I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sakanakun Don, and it was an unforgettable experience that truly deserves a five-star rating!

From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere, a perfect blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics with a modern touch. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every aspect of my meal was perfect.

The highlight, of course, was the food. The donburi was nothing short of extraordinary—each bowl was a masterpiece. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, with the sashimi melting in your mouth like butter. The rice was perfectly seasoned, balancing the flavors of the fish, and the presentation was stunning, showing a true dedication to the craft.

I also appreciated the variety of options on the menu, catering to different tastes while maintaining the highest quality. The portion sizes were generous, offering great value for the price.

In summary, Sakanakun Don is a must-visit for anyone who loves Japanese cuisine. Whether you’re a donburi enthusiast or new to this style of dining, you will leave thoroughly satisfied. I can't...

Allured by those attractive donburi photos on social media, my friend helped us book this Japanese resto in Da'an District for lunch. . One friend and I both ordered Four-Colour Donburi, which consisted of four types of fresh seafood, namely salmon roe, sea urchin, sweet shrimp and minced tuna. Topped with an runny raw egg yolk, the rice was poured with a sea urchin broth, which complemented the sashimi well and enhanced our appetite.

Another friend ordered Deluxe Sashimi Donburi, featuring nine types of sashimi, including tuna, salmon, salmon roe, oyster, sea urchin, yellowtail, sea bream, mackerel and striped bass. She loved those fatty sashimi with a rich fish oil aroma and omega 3 content. While the standard sashimi like tuna was not particularly surprising, the roe was outstanding and fresh, bursting with fish oil flavor in a delightful way. The oyster was plump and fresh as well.

The restaurant has a wooden-themed interior design, creating a cozy and relaxed ambiance with Studio Ghibli music playing in the background. Although the food was somewhat pricey, indulging in it once in a while...

The most divine seafood donburi ever, seriously so good I wanted to scream. Be prepared to have to shell out some significant cash for seafood this fresh and plentiful, and know that if you're a seafood lover it's absolutely worth the splurge 🤤 I got their Instagram famous donburi with tuna, uni, raw sweet shrimp and salmon toe and it was divine!! Be aware because of the coronavirus/related shortages, the prices are adjusted daily based on the current cost of the fresh seafood ingredients, but they'll inform you up front about it before ordering. Shelled out ~700 for that bowl (including service charge) and don't regret at all and would come back again for seafood dream...

Got these overflowing don bowls yesterday, along with mountain yam fries, and my first katsu sando. The don’s were worth it compared to other places, we got the four type which included uni, sweet shrimp, tuna, and salmon roe and an egg yolk (480ntd) Added an extra serving of scallop in one bowl (+150ntd) I prefer my slimy yam grilled, but in fry form its still just as addicting The katsu sando was unfortunately more disappointing, the meat was chewey and seemed a little overcooked. (520ntd) We also got cold sake in cute wooden cups (190nt) Service was great however, very attentive and they all seemed super hip. As a plus, right downstairs is one of my favourite bars: eside bond.
