So far, this is the best cafe I've been to in Taipei. The service was outstanding. The tables, chairs, lighting and decoration were very inviting. You can see the kitchen from part of the the sitting space and just by the looks you can expect quality. The place looks and smells clean and fresh. I believe anyone would feel comfortable in this place. I ordered a chicken and avocado toast nibble. I was impressed by it. Fresh and flavorful! The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The avocado was so refreshing, the creaminess was excellent, balanced and with a perfect texture. The presentation was sofisticated and appealing. As a dessert, I had a slice of Red Velvet cake. It was like tasting happiness. The cream cheese frosting was exquisite. In terms of taste it was the best I've had. The texture was at the right spot in terms of smoothness and tenderness. The presentation was good, and the generous portion is extremely appreciated. The beautiful scarlet hue was just the final touch to make Sugar Pea's Red Velvet Cake delightful to the eyes and palate. I accompanied everything with an iced brown sugar latte that didn't disappoint. In terms of price, it is a bit more expensive than other cafes in the area. Trust me, the quality and the flavors you get, plus the attention and the atmosphere you enjoy there are more than worth it. I am eager to return to try the rest of their menu. Sugar Pea Cafe, totally...

We made a special pre-booking site visit to Sugar Pea Café after receiving no response via LINE. We had previously visited and were impressed by the delicious food and calming atmosphere — which is why we seriously considered hosting two upcoming celebrations there, with friends flying in from overseas.
Unfortunately, this follow-up visit left us disappointed. We were not welcomed or acknowledged when we arrived. No one offered to introduce the space, and we had to take the initiative ourselves. We kindly requested special seating due to medical needs and the significance of our celebration, and while we fully understand that such requests may not always be possible, the response lacked warmth and professionalism.
One staff member mentioned a long waitlist and used another customer’s request as a reason to decline ours, which felt dismissive and created unnecessary stress. Her tone implied that accommodating us would mean “giving the whole world what they want” — which made us feel like our needs were invalid or excessive.
As international guests hoping to create a special memory, we approached with respect and genuine intent. Unfortunately, we left feeling unwelcome and disheartened. A more thoughtful and guest-centered approach could have made a...
Read moreThe food was okay, but the service made our experience really difficult to enjoy. My friends and I traveled all the way from Hsinchu and Taichung to Taipei to enjoy lunch together for our reunion. However, the waiter (the man that spoke with a gentle and "posh" tone) looked at our bags and joked about us being backpackers in a sarcastic tone. Then they made my order wrong, mistaking the Super Green bowl for a green drink. That didn't bother me as much, but there was no apology, and the waiter still kept on rushing us to go, even though it was their fault for messing up my order. The server came over and rushed us by constantly counting down the time for us to go, and after we paid the bill, he said, "Time for you go". We felt we weren't welcomed and rushed to leave. This experience made me realize how important "good service" is, as this server was quite off putting that no matter how good the food was, it made us have no desire to return. I noticed that there are some reviews that mentioned similar issues regarding service attitude, so this is clearly a recurring problem that hasn't been solved. Please reeducate your staff about how to treat customers professionally. I very much prefer the service and food at Avenue and would very much return to Avenue instead...
