Work Inn 101 — Hotel in Taipei

Booked this place as the previous hostel I stayed the 1st night had a loud n old air cond in the room plus being far from MRT station. Saw this which is in the same area n being 500m from MRT Red line 101 station. Stayed for 2 nights. No complains abt staff. Single rooms r tiny boxes with upper or lower deck beds. Stayed at room 212 which is the row (208, 210, 212 n 214) where the female bathrooms r right behind the wall, once any1 turns on the pipe or shower head, it is so loud coz the water pressure is strong. It sounds like as if u r in the same bathroom n basically for a light sleeper like me, I got up everytime any1 is in the showers. Explained to the staff on day 2 but still unable to change room to the opposite row eventhough i saw the rooms were checked out b4 new guests were to check in later that day. Wish I knew how to book the quieter opposite row. Any guest walking pass in the corridor is noticeable n this morning since 5am ppl r pulling their heavy luggages out the room to check out. No food n drinks allowed in the room so the common space/kitchen on 2nd n 3rd floor r good but most guests avoid even eye contact when I smiled to them except for a guy from UK n another fron Aussie which we had brief frendly chats. I will not stay here again n recommend to those who only want budget stay in 101 area n...

Though the room is are small, the privacy option is very nice. Individual rooms are creativity constructed with beds located within an alcove, with one above the other. Each bed then has its own separate entrance, desk and door. There is an option for either single mattress or the double sized mattress. The mattress themselves are think at 4 inches, however they are spring mattress and very firm, unlike foam mats which are common l used at other hostels or inns.

The dormitory rooms have four bunks and large lockers, which a suitcase can fit into.

There is a laundry and dryer on the third floor along with a clothing rack on the terrace.

The kitchen is full service, with induction stove top, pots and pans and a refrigerator, suitable for extended stay.

The common room is small, but comfortably located with stairs going up and down. Very well designed. There are a couple of small tables and a large dining table.

Given the coziness of the common room, I found it easy to engage and speak to others staying here. There is a blend of both Taiwanese and foreign visitors and I have met Americans, UK and Japanese...
