I and my friends (both Vietnamese and Taiwanese) had dinner here on Aug 31, 2024 (around 7 pm to 8:50 pmn, in VIP lounge). The food here was good. The Moroccan boss was nice. But the attitude of the waitress (Ms. Lee, a Taiwanese one) was so bad, which made all of us disappointed. Briefly narrate one example, when we ordered couscous, just by looking at the photo in the menu, we did not really get what it was and politely asked Ms. Lee to explain. She impatiently responded that "couscous is literally couscous" (in Chinese: 古司古司就是古司古司啊). I replied by asking her what couscous was made of (是什麼料做出來的). She told "wheat" and "I am not Moroccan and I do not know what this dish is made of. Just like you are Vietnamese and you can explain about Vietnamese food but I cant..."
This was just one of many incidents demonstrating Ms. Lee's negative attitude towards us during our dinner.
I observed for a while and thought that it was not because of the workload that affected her attitude. The other two waitresses (a Malaysian and a Vietnamese) were all professional and supportive to us.
The Moroccan boss noticed this issue and at the end of the meal, he gave us some desserts for free (the 5 marshmallowed biscuits in the photos) to compensate for the waitress' action. He even apologized us and required Ms. Lee to go with him to say sorry. But she talked back to the boss and in front of all of us, she argued that she did not do anything wrong, the boss already apologized and it covered all, enough. Kindly note that the bill included 10% service fee. Was that...
Read moreI'm pretty familiar with middle eastern food in general but this is my first time trying Moroccan food specifically. We got the two person set meal which is a good selection of their menu. The price depends on the type of taijin you get.
We wanted to try their lamb taijin and they had "lamb" and "lamb shank". The server recommended lamb shank and we were not disappointed. The meat was so tender it completely fell off the bone, it was so delicious.
The hummus was a bit thick and small for even an appetizer size. The pita was the soft and fluffy kind, which is the best kind, as opposed to the flat kind.
The soup was a rich and flavorful, reminded us of minestrone soup.
The set meal also came with rice and couscous, both were great - not too dry and not too wet.
Dessert was rice pudding and a date+nut dessert. The pudding wasn't too sweet, which was nice, but it was slightly lumpy. The date+nut dessert was basically three medjool dates with a single different kind of nut in the center of the date. I don't know what else I was expecting. The dates were nice, sweet, and plump but basically literally "dates and nuts."
Lastly, we had the "smores" - a marshmallow in between two ritz crackers. Not my favorite (and I doubt its authenticity).
Overall, super delicious lamb shank taijin. We left very full. Would absolutely come back and try their other...

Must-order dishes include without question their lamb/shank, cooked to a staggeringly tender degree using the tajine, the traditional, fine-painted North African culinary apparatus that is also the namesake of the restaurant. Delectable pitas dipped in hummus complemented by rice pudding for dessert are also curated choices. Pricing is very acceptable for the quality of food and service, combined with the exotic nature of the dishes - it's not like you can get authentic Moroccan lamb stew with couscous anywhere in Taipei.
Interestingly, we learned upon further enquiry that the restaurant employs multiple Indonesian-born servers - young, attractive men and women in their 20s with Chinese ethnicity. What a combination that is! English is, as a result, a much-appreciated alternative if the host or servers don't understand Chinese.
Possibly the only downside of this restaurant is the lack of parking spaces within a 500m radius. The financial district of Taipei is obviously not designed for roadside parking, nor is there an abundance of parking lots. As such, arriving on foot, bike or taxi is...
