We had dinner on a Saturday night (June 14, 2025) and our reservation was at 5pm.
The food was excellent as well as the service! However, by having QR code and a time limit of 1.5 hours, it cheapened the entire experience. What could've been a high-class restaurant became a medium to low class restaurant. We were told we were almost reaching our 1.5 hour time-limit (10 minutes left) when the entire restaurant was only a quarter full with nobody lining up. I can understand if there were a lot of people waiting but, when there were plenty of empty tables all around us, was there really a need to push us out? If you have a time limit, does it give the customers the right to demand all of our order to be on the table in 10-15 minutes so we can at least have a little over an hour to enjoy our food? Our appetizer was served after our main courses. We go to a classy restaurant to enjoy not only the food but the service and ambience. Please don't downgrade it by having QR code and such short time limits to enjoy your very...
Read moreThe expectations we had from looking the Michelin poster proudly displayed outside was sadly, not met. Some of the dishes had a lot more local flavor rather than the authentic “thai” flavours that I was expecting.
The standout were the thai chicken wings, and the lemongrass fish. The sauce and crispiness on the wings was amazing, and the fish were tangy-ly spiced and perfectly cooked.
Rest of the ensemble of the curry, minced pork, spinach stir fry, even the tamarind drinks were underwhelming.
It was also weird that were asked to pay the bill in the middle of the dinner, so we literally stopped eating and talking and having a fun time to divvy up and settle the bill. When a restaurant is charging 10% service fee, this felt like a slap in the face.
So based on majorly underwhelming food, and apathetic service, i’ll probably not come here again especially when there’s 4 other restaurants...
Read morereally enjoy Nara especially in Bangkok original stores. However, overseas shops always have some problems not really relates to the food itself but the service. As most of my friends are not comfortable with spicy dishes, i usually avoid those spicy dishes but when came across the ocard privilege, i would like to redeem the Shrimp Paste Vegetable and ask if there is option for non-spicy, but i was being told “cannot change”. However, it is quite easy just not to put the shrimp paste in and solve the issue, and which later my friend told me he was offered this option before with the same OCard offer.
maybe we are just a small clients which ur side wont care, but i would like to tell everyone in google to make sure u can take spicy dishes and accept rigid services before walking into Nara Taipei, else, buy a tix and...
