I’ve been going here for years - and am determined to visit this shop whenever I return to Taipei. And it remains one of my favorite places to go for noodles in Taipei. Their knife cut noodles (刀削面) are always the perfect level of chewiness (QQ) and are the real star of the show. If you’ve never had knife cut noodles before, they tend to be thicker than traditional noodles - and because of that, also chewier and more flavorful.

To be entirely honest, there are better places for beef soup or zha jiang mian if you’re just going for flavor. But their noodles make up for it all. This shop’s bean paste noodle (zha jiang mian, 炸醬麵) sauce could have more depth to it, but after adding in some of their spicy sauce, this dish is a knockout - largely because of their amazing noodles. I always enjoy their beef noodle soup (牛肉麵) as well - the broth is light and not too oily, serving as a perfect vehicle to get those tasty knife cut noodles in my mouth.

Love this place and will keep on coming back for...

I had a Spicy and sour noodle soup (sliced noodles, small $100) and the drinks were in the fridge near the front door. It cost $15 for each small drink and $25 for each large drink. FYI, you give the menu to the staff in person and don’t forget to tell the number of your table.

The sliced noodles had amazing texture with the sour and spicy soup. The broth was authentic and kinda thick as it should be. The other things on the soup like shredded tofu and eggs also tasted great.

Lastly, the efficiency was high and the staff were friendly and agile. The price was also quite low. The only shortcoming was that you need to eat with other people in a single table because the restaurant has always been bustling with people. Overall it’s a...

Your little hole in the wall for noodle soups!

I give the two sides we ate a 5/5. We got the tofu side with the egg and a cucumber side - both were DELICIOUS! It’s also super cool how you can just grab a side displayed on their shelf.

However, my friend and I ordered the Tomato Beef Noodle Soup and unfortunately, the soup broth was just a bit bland and not very tomato-like. The noodles were amazing and fresh, but with a lacking broth, it wasn’t a very great dining experience.

This restaurant unfortunately did not meet our high expectations for the taste quality and...

Fav beef noodle soup spot thus far Hype is worth it - the noodles were exactly as I’d hope, light and springy and chewy and rly held the flavor of the soup well. The tendons were chewy and creamy and the beef was tender as well. Incredible flavor!! Don’t get the sesame wontons - they were terrible. Weird flavor that didn’t quite taste like sesame and there was barely any meat in the wontons. Bleh The side dishes were good tho- particularly liked the bamboo and eggplant! We walked in on a Monday evening ~7p and we were seated immediately.
