Taiwanese chicken rice is less intense compared to hainanese chicken rice (personally I thought it was just rice mixed with chicken oil and soy). This cost NT$175 and was very filling for 2. The blanched veg was tender, the Hsinchu mee fen (thin rice noodles) was springy and chewy. The chicken was firm. It's only a 5min walk from Hsinchu Station so worth the effort.

This is an excellent chicken rice. In fact better than all the famous chicken rice in SG. SG stalls now are mostly using frozen chicken and I stopped eating chicken rice in my own country ever since. Without saying, look at the picture of the chicken and you will understand that this is really good. Chicken skin is fragrant and yellow. The braised pork rice was really just…. mediocre… lack of flavor. Needs more red onion and perhaps soy sauce?
