京祚串燒居酒屋 — Restaurant in Hualien City

An unassuming izakaya with a specialty of japanese style grilled meat skewers.

The night started out with an appetite that was considering grilled meats buffets, and ended with a lone diner knocking on this izakaya’s door with no reservation.

The friendly server handed me a menu while she arranged a seat as I waited at the stools by the entrance. Pushing through the wooden door, a cosy yet comforting dining atmosphere greeted me with japanese inspired furnishings.

The food took a while to prepare, and the complimentary miso soup was an unexpected pleasant surprise courtesy of the staff. Despite there being only a few tables, it didn’t feel too noisy and the dining arrangement is comfortable, with a basket for storing bags beneath the dining table.

Now onto the food, as a single diner, i had a rice ball, a selection of grilled beef, pork, chicken and octopus skewers. A little bit of everything. Despite being a stick each, the quality and portion is worth the order. Particularly, the green onions combined excellently with the beef and pork. I intended the mentaiko rice ball as a simple filling dish, but at NT60, the rice ball came with bursts of flavours, from the slight grilled surfaces giving a crisp texture to the furikake combining with the mentaiko impeccably.

At the end of the meal, i found myself as full as I would be after a buffet. Would recommend this spot for a nice get-together for quality skewers and beer despite dining alone this time round.

The service was also sincere and it was nice to see staff giving complimentary drinks in shot glasses to regulars to complete...

SUPER RECOMMENDED JAPANESE FOOD PLACE!! We didnt knew this restaurant until we tried it. All the food were super good, tasty and value for money. It is a small and cozy restaurant. Though they only provide menu in mandarin but the waitress were kind enough to intro the popular food in their restaurant and explain them one by one. Waitress were super friendly and nice. All the food are freshly cook on the spot. Fried Tofu, Sushi Rolls, Clam Soup and Sashimi highly recommend and its fresh too :).

Worth visiting and will definately patronise this store again if ever got the chance. Free dessert at the end of...

Delicious!! This meal was so, so yummy. We enjoyed every single item that we ordered and even wanted to order more. My partner and I have been traveling for the past 5 months throughout Southeast Asia and this restaurant easily lands in the top 3 of all the restaurants that we’ve been to.

The ambiance was wonderful, the service was top-notch, and the food was perfect. It was cooked well and the flavor was amazing. The price was also very fair! I cannot recommend this...
