I seldom give a rating below 3 stars but the discrimatory service of the shop owner is really a downer for this shop. We travelled a great distance to try Ah Gui's coffee but when we arrived, we were turned away by the store owner because we had a 1 year old baby with us. When I asked if we could sit outside to dine, we were rejected again. The reason he provided was because we might disturb the other customers. We understand the reason but the way we were turned away wasn't pleasant. the owner stared at me when I walked in to take a look - as if I had no right to be there. They should state it clearly if they have such a policy in the future to prevent misunderstandings. Read moreThe shop is run by a very patient and excited barista with 20 years of experience who walked us through the different coffee culture that Taiwan subscribes to. He let us try various coffees and beans for free! Every coffee is brewed with beans he roasts himself. The espresso was excellent with very little bitterness and sour hints, I highly recommend it! The cappuccino was absolutely excellent, the microfoam was steamed nearly perfectly and his Rosettas were beautiful. No large bubbles were to be seen.
