This place wins.
I had the 素肉飯 “su ro fan” vegetarian stewed “meat” on top of rice, this shop takes this traditional Taiwanese gem and balances the salty “meat” with picked Chinese cabbage. If the toppings wasn’t so salty it would be a 5 of 5. The service is good, place is pretty clean and spacious.
Next up was the miso soup ramen, the ramen is the fatter noodles, not the thin ones. The broth is where it’s at. The miso, plus 豆腐乳 bean curd base and a strong amount of mushrooms make the Broth a winner.
We also had a Satay sauce “gnocchi” which had a wannabe south East Asian sauce, it had the aroma but the flavor was salty to meet the Taiwanese locals taste buds. It’s a bit salty for me, but the locals love it.

Read moreThis place serves a good variety of cheap, delicious vegetarian food. I love their (mock) meat sauce on rice or with sesame noodles. The curry was a little disappointing, though. If you're looking for something strong tasting I'd suggest getting something else.
