This written review is based on my expectation from the marketing materials of the chef being from a former Michelin 3 star restaurant but I've given this 3 stars based on some leniency as how I would've rated the restaurant irrespective of the Michelin star association. Keep in mind I only had breakfast there so it may not be a good reflection of what lunch or dinner may be.

Presentation was very much emphasized but in most cases in didn't make sense. For example, the French toast was cold but it was served in a cast iron skillet (that was also cold). The freshly scrambled eggs were cooked well, but it was served on a regular dish as a side to the French toast. The greens in the salad were questionable in their freshness and the yogurt had an overwhelming creaminess that would've been better balanced with fresh fruits instead of preserved ones. Juice was a cocktail of concentrates which even a simple orange juice would have been better.

Not a great Michelin like experience but if you are just wanting a nice lookout to have breakfast,...

<孤獨的美食家王醫師--真夜中俯瞰燈火浪漫>

如同它的名稱,既是酒吧,也是餐酒館。可以在窗前一覽高雄核心地帶的繁華,也可以選擇靠近吧台的低調座位享受特調。我們被安排在角落的四人座位,雖然偏僻,卻有最好的視野。或許錯過夕陽,但是透過連綿的帷窗遠眺罩入薄暮的中央公園依舊是種不一樣的美。鄰近的大樓也接二連三地開始綻放各式各色明燈,彷彿昭告著越來越美麗的夜。

然而,其中一位貴賓遲到了,獨自駕駛迷路在不熟悉的高雄市車陣中。畢竟孤獨的美食家是她帶大的,只能和服務生互相帶著尷尬又不失禮的笑容對看。幸好貴賓--姑姑大人僅迷失約半小時就抵達,眺吧的用餐時間限制為兩小時,我們還有充足的時間享用。

在這裡有項特別活動,壽星可以享受特調或者拍立得。本來前者限定是酒精飲料,跟餐廳說明壽星一位要開車,一位是未成年後,同意放寬為無酒精飲料。相較於各式調酒,無酒精飲料的品項少得可憐,只有一張紙兩面還寫不完,兩名壽星卻依然出現選擇障礙。

再選擇下去可能還沒決定好主菜,用餐時間就結束了。服務生急中生智,建議讓bartender妹妹發揮創意獻給壽星,到底會呈現怎樣的特調呢?真是令人期待啊!

不是要一直強調長輩的遲到,不過這30分鐘確實打亂了點餐的佈局。原本想點每日限量,可以三四人合吃的「日本A5和牛火燒蝦仁」釜飯,服務生提醒製作時間保守估計40分鐘到一個小時,等到上桌差不多也要準備打包帶回家了。

也因此我們決定放棄名稱看起來很厲害的釜飯,各點一份前菜和排餐,為了怕吃不飽,再加點一份服務生推薦的主食。當然,從中午到現在飽吃高雄美食的壽星小提琴美少女露出「這不會點太多了嗎?」的表情,但是和長輩一起吃飯,最好就是吃不下還得打包,這才表示豐盛啊!

先前在網路評價就曾看過「眺吧」控餐的步調一流,我們才閒話家常沒幾句,前菜就已陸續上桌,果然名不虛傳。若是在其他餐廳就算全員準時,恐怕也可能已經餓到兩眼昏花都還沒辦法開動。 , 最先送上的是牛肉韃靼,原本還以為會只是盤子裏裝一塊像是生牛肉漢堡的呈現方式。想不到是將牛絞肉混合牛骨髓和酪梨丁以及多種香料後,盛裝在對半剖開的牛大骨裡,上面再擺生菜裝飾,視覺美感一整個大加分。雖然是生肉,在香料適當的調和下毫無腥羶,入口柔軟而且餘韻無窮。除了單吃也可以搭配帶有微熱而酥脆的酸種麵包,口感更是加分,與其說是吃生肉,不如說是口感別緻的沙拉。

小提琴美少女的前菜是廣島生蠔佐柚子蘿蔔與昆布脆片,乍看滿滿的亞洲元素,生蠔的柔軟、蘿蔔的爽脆以及昆布的酥是口感的對比,至於味覺方面的對比則是生蠔醬汁、柚子漬汁和昆布的潮水鹹香,這樣強調對比還是有法國料理的精神存在。

最後一樣與其說是前菜不如說是湯,切片的白肉魚墊在碗底,旁邊是熾熱的多孔卵石上,魚片上再鋪油炸的金針菇以及新鮮的芽菜和可食用的三色堇,滴上些許茴香油後再淋上清澈的雞湯。魚片經由石頭的熱度催熟不會過老,但也不會夾生,能夠讓隨時可以到興達港、將軍和蚵仔寮等漁港採購新鮮魚貨的姑姑讚譽有加,不只是調味,魚品鮮度也有達標,整體而言堪稱一絕。

前菜享用得差不多時,服務生端來了給兩位壽星的無酒精特調,鮮豔奪目的藍色不要說是小蘿莉,連姑姑都感到興奮不已。根據小提琴美少女的說法,入口酸甜不刺激,而且有蘋果的香氣,想來基底應該是藍柑橘加上蘋果汁吧!帶點苦澀的葡萄柚果乾更是讓飲品的風味層次提升,或許這是打安全牌的做法,卻正好對了壽星的脾胃,只能說是天作之合,後來還特地帶了小提琴美少女向貼心的bartender姊姊親口說聲謝謝。

見識到三種不同風格帶有亞洲血統的前菜後,接著呈上的是唯一的一份主食--金黃澄亮的「西班牙番紅花海鮮燉飯」。或許是為了迎合在地民眾,主廚選擇的是圓米而非長米,米芯也已經充分煮透而未保留,更沒有鑄鐵鍋海鮮飯令人期待的焦脆鍋巴,但整體而言仍有可觀之處。

首先當然是海鮮的鮮度,無論蝦子或者花枝的甜度都無可挑剔,不負高雄港都之名。捨西班牙香腸選擇義式沙拉米雖然不太正統,但不得不承認後者在品嘗時比較容易保持優雅,只是對喜歡肉感的食客而言就會拿這點出來挑剔了。此外,個人非常欣賞飯中混入培根丁的創意,這些培根丁應該是一開始爆香時就加入的,除了提供香氣和鹹味,也能為燉飯增添堅實的口感。這道可以說是在台灣落地生根,已經跳脫西班牙血統的海鮮燉飯。

下一個主菜是呈給姑姑的「稻燻紐西蘭羔羊排」,一開始只有一個大盤子,上面有顆用白色泡沫黏住鯖魚碎肉的馬鈴薯、一顆抹上青醬的奇異果以及一坨像是用水果做成的泥狀物。接著是很浮誇的一尺多直徑大鍋,打開鍋蓋一陣濃郁但不刺鼻的白煙散去後,見到放在竹網上墊有迷迭香和百里香的羔羊排,竹網下方則是乾稻草。根據菜單上的說明,應該是將煎過的羔羊排放在鍋中用稻草燻過。

坦白說讓長輩挑戰羔羊排是令人擔心的,除了吃相優雅與否,也擔心對牙齒造成負擔。但是從姑姑分給我的羔羊排看來是多慮的,即使看起來只有五分多熟,口感出乎意料之外地軟嫩。青色的醬汁除了香草應該也有混入鯷魚醬,既濃且鮮,既提了肉品的風味,又能充分展現自己的個性。

在此不得不對幾乎同時送上來的「豪野鴨胸」表示歉意,忙著跟剩下大半的番紅花海鮮燉飯奮戰,似乎錯過了最佳賞味時間。然而當下刀的那瞬間還以為自己的觸感有誤,直到送入口中才確認,即使放置了一段時間,鴨皮還是脆的!真是令人興奮的發現,姑姑和巨啥米眼鏡美艷人妻同樣是廚藝行家,一吃就知道鴨皮有事先風乾過,皮覆蓋不到的部分在下鍋前卻是謹慎密封鎖住水分,所以切面依然肉汁十足。

風乾除了讓鴨皮酥脆,還可以消除多餘的皮下脂肪,又能讓風味更為濃縮,可以說是一舉數得。也因此即使不沾任何醬料就已經讓人回味無窮,至於煙燻香蕉泥的作用有點微妙,主廚應該是期待除了蘋果梨子以外的甜味水果可以襯托紅肉,只是香蕉泥真的太甜,連帶也讓熟成鴨肉的發揮受到侷限,有那麼點可惜,但是份量非常足夠,對於肉食動物的孤獨美食家而言是大大地加分。

最後終於輪到小提琴美少女了,對於她勇於挑戰擺放一堆綠色辣椒(雖然不會辣)的料理孤獨的美食家是抱持敬意的。但是看到服務生端上的餐盤時第一時間也愣住了,只見青龍椒哪見牛小排啊?還好經過一番撥雲見日,才見到熟度堪稱完美,不浪費任何一滴肉汁的牛小排。

小提琴美少女首先挑戰炭烤青龍椒,原本擔心不喜歡青椒風味的她無法接受,結果她嗑完了。接下去是油封馬鈴薯更不成問題,一邊吃一邊讚不絕口。再接著是牛小排,一開始她也先吃原味,瞭解肉品本來的風味和油脂度的表現後,再加上今天的另一個重要配角,由蛋黃、奶油、白酒醋以及數種香料製成米黃色的伯那西泡沫醬(Béarnaise...

We made reservation for weekday dinner to see the skyline of the city around sunset time. Upon arrival we got our table right away, but the overlook view was far more disappointing than expected. They only had few tables by the glass window, couple of them were blocked by the ongoing construction. The overlook view was not great either.

We ordered the preset course for two. The scallop was okay. Seafood risotto was average, the protein was good but risotto was too watery. Same for the ribeye, it wasn’t too flavorful and the bone marrow it came with also had no real taste. The drink, Dr. Kiwi, was good though.

The service was excellent. They had a cube at the table that would notify the servers to order, refill order, clean table and to get check. Very unique way of making the process efficient. I just wish the overlook view and the food was...

<孤獨的美食家王醫師--真夜中俯瞰燈火浪漫> 如同它的名稱,既是酒吧,也是餐酒館。可以在窗前一覽高雄核心地帶的繁華,也可以選擇靠近吧台的低調座位享受特調。我們被安排在角落的四人座位,雖然偏僻,卻有最好的視野。或許錯過夕陽,但是透過連綿的帷窗遠眺罩入薄暮的中央公園依舊是種不一樣的美。鄰近的大樓也接二連三地開始綻放各式各色明燈,彷彿昭告著越來越美麗的夜。 然而,其中一位貴賓遲到了,獨自駕駛迷路在不熟悉的高雄市車陣中。畢竟孤獨的美食家是她帶大的,只能和服務生互相帶著尷尬又不失禮的笑容對看。幸好貴賓--姑姑大人僅迷失約半小時就抵達,眺吧的用餐時間限制為兩小時,我們還有充足的時間享用。 在這裡有項特別活動,壽星可以享受特調或者拍立得。本來前者限定是酒精飲料,跟餐廳說明壽星一位要開車,一位是未成年後,同意放寬為無酒精飲料。相較於各式調酒,無酒精飲料的品項少得可憐,只有一張紙兩面還寫不完,兩名壽星卻依然出現選擇障礙。 再選擇下去可能還沒決定好主菜,用餐時間就結束了。服務生急中生智,建議讓bartender妹妹發揮創意獻給壽星,到底會呈現怎樣的特調呢?真是令人期待啊! 不是要一直強調長輩的遲到,不過這30分鐘確實打亂了點餐的佈局。原本想點每日限量,可以三四人合吃的「日本A5和牛火燒蝦仁」釜飯,服務生提醒製作時間保守估計40分鐘到一個小時,等到上桌差不多也要準備打包帶回家了。 也因此我們決定放棄名稱看起來很厲害的釜飯,各點一份前菜和排餐,為了怕吃不飽,再加點一份服務生推薦的主食。當然,從中午到現在飽吃高雄美食的壽星小提琴美少女露出「這不會點太多了嗎?」的表情,但是和長輩一起吃飯,最好就是吃不下還得打包,這才表示豐盛啊! 先前在網路評價就曾看過「眺吧」控餐的步調一流,我們才閒話家常沒幾句,前菜就已陸續上桌,果然名不虛傳。若是在其他餐廳就算全員準時,恐怕也可能已經餓到兩眼昏花都還沒辦法開動。 , 最先送上的是牛肉韃靼,原本還以為會只是盤子裏裝一塊像是生牛肉漢堡的呈現方式。想不到是將牛絞肉混合牛骨髓和酪梨丁以及多種香料後,盛裝在對半剖開的牛大骨裡,上面再擺生菜裝飾,視覺美感一整個大加分。雖然是生肉,在香料適當的調和下毫無腥羶,入口柔軟而且餘韻無窮。除了單吃也可以搭配帶有微熱而酥脆的酸種麵包,口感更是加分,與其說是吃生肉,不如說是口感別緻的沙拉。 小提琴美少女的前菜是廣島生蠔佐柚子蘿蔔與昆布脆片,乍看滿滿的亞洲元素,生蠔的柔軟、蘿蔔的爽脆以及昆布的酥是口感的對比,至於味覺方面的對比則是生蠔醬汁、柚子漬汁和昆布的潮水鹹香,這樣強調對比還是有法國料理的精神存在。 最後一樣與其說是前菜不如說是湯,切片的白肉魚墊在碗底,旁邊是熾熱的多孔卵石上,魚片上再鋪油炸的金針菇以及新鮮的芽菜和可食用的三色堇,滴上些許茴香油後再淋上清澈的雞湯。魚片經由石頭的熱度催熟不會過老,但也不會夾生,能夠讓隨時可以到興達港、將軍和蚵仔寮等漁港採購新鮮魚貨的姑姑讚譽有加,不只是調味,魚品鮮度也有達標,整體而言堪稱一絕。 前菜享用得差不多時,服務生端來了給兩位壽星的無酒精特調,鮮豔奪目的藍色不要說是小蘿莉,連姑姑都感到興奮不已。根據小提琴美少女的說法,入口酸甜不刺激,而且有蘋果的香氣,想來基底應該是藍柑橘加上蘋果汁吧!帶點苦澀的葡萄柚果乾更是讓飲品的風味層次提升,或許這是打安全牌的做法,卻正好對了壽星的脾胃,只能說是天作之合,後來還特地帶了小提琴美少女向貼心的bartender姊姊親口說聲謝謝。 見識到三種不同風格帶有亞洲血統的前菜後,接著呈上的是唯一的一份主食--金黃澄亮的「西班牙番紅花海鮮燉飯」。或許是為了迎合在地民眾,主廚選擇的是圓米而非長米,米芯也已經充分煮透而未保留,更沒有鑄鐵鍋海鮮飯令人期待的焦脆鍋巴,但整體而言仍有可觀之處。 首先當然是海鮮的鮮度,無論蝦子或者花枝的甜度都無可挑剔,不負高雄港都之名。捨西班牙香腸選擇義式沙拉米雖然不太正統,但不得不承認後者在品嘗時比較容易保持優雅,只是對喜歡肉感的食客而言就會拿這點出來挑剔了。此外,個人非常欣賞飯中混入培根丁的創意,這些培根丁應該是一開始爆香時就加入的,除了提供香氣和鹹味,也能為燉飯增添堅實的口感。這道可以說是在台灣落地生根,已經跳脫西班牙血統的海鮮燉飯。 下一個主菜是呈給姑姑的「稻燻紐西蘭羔羊排」,一開始只有一個大盤子,上面有顆用白色泡沫黏住鯖魚碎肉的馬鈴薯、一顆抹上青醬的奇異果以及一坨像是用水果做成的泥狀物。接著是很浮誇的一尺多直徑大鍋,打開鍋蓋一陣濃郁但不刺鼻的白煙散去後,見到放在竹網上墊有迷迭香和百里香的羔羊排,竹網下方則是乾稻草。根據菜單上的說明,應該是將煎過的羔羊排放在鍋中用稻草燻過。 坦白說讓長輩挑戰羔羊排是令人擔心的,除了吃相優雅與否,也擔心對牙齒造成負擔。但是從姑姑分給我的羔羊排看來是多慮的,即使看起來只有五分多熟,口感出乎意料之外地軟嫩。青色的醬汁除了香草應該也有混入鯷魚醬,既濃且鮮,既提了肉品的風味,又能充分展現自己的個性。 在此不得不對幾乎同時送上來的「豪野鴨胸」表示歉意,忙著跟剩下大半的番紅花海鮮燉飯奮戰,似乎錯過了最佳賞味時間。然而當下刀的那瞬間還以為自己的觸感有誤,直到送入口中才確認,即使放置了一段時間,鴨皮還是脆的!真是令人興奮的發現,姑姑和巨啥米眼鏡美艷人妻同樣是廚藝行家,一吃就知道鴨皮有事先風乾過,皮覆蓋不到的部分在下鍋前卻是謹慎密封鎖住水分,所以切面依然肉汁十足。 風乾除了讓鴨皮酥脆,還可以消除多餘的皮下脂肪,又能讓風味更為濃縮,可以說是一舉數得。也因此即使不沾任何醬料就已經讓人回味無窮,至於煙燻香蕉泥的作用有點微妙,主廚應該是期待除了蘋果梨子以外的甜味水果可以襯托紅肉,只是香蕉泥真的太甜,連帶也讓熟成鴨肉的發揮受到侷限,有那麼點可惜,但是份量非常足夠,對於肉食動物的孤獨美食家而言是大大地加分。 最後終於輪到小提琴美少女了,對於她勇於挑戰擺放一堆綠色辣椒(雖然不會辣)的料理孤獨的美食家是抱持敬意的。但是看到服務生端上的餐盤時第一時間也愣住了,只見青龍椒哪見牛小排啊?還好經過一番撥雲見日,才見到熟度堪稱完美,不浪費任何一滴肉汁的牛小排。 小提琴美少女首先挑戰炭烤青龍椒,原本擔心不喜歡青椒風味的她無法接受,結果她嗑完了。接下去是油封馬鈴薯更不成問題,一邊吃一邊讚不絕口。再接著是牛小排,一開始她也先吃原味,瞭解肉品本來的風味和油脂度的表現後,再加上今天的另一個重要配角,由蛋黃、奶油、白酒醋以及數種香料製成米黃色的伯那西泡沫醬(Béarnaise Sauce)。細緻又帶著微酸的伯那西醬和牛小排果然是良伴,小提琴美少女三兩下就把牛小排完食......她還記得分給她的姑婆一點,但是完全忘記分給我,所以也只能根據她的口述記錄。 總之,今天三種排餐見識了三種不同的料理手法,而且充分感受到了眺吧內場團隊的創意以及外場團隊控管用餐節奏的技巧以及各項無微不至的服務。不只是會推薦給在地親朋好友,如果有機會,孤獨的美食家還想再度造訪,無論是品嘗向隅的釜飯或者其他未曾得見的菜單想必都是一大樂事。 #孤獨的美食家王醫師 #眺吧餐酒館 #LookOutBistroBar #稻燻紐西蘭羔羊排 #豪野鴨胸 #牛小排炭烤青龍椒佐伯那西泡沫醬 #小提琴美少女

We made reservation for weekday dinner to see the skyline of the city around sunset time. Upon arrival we got our table right away, but the overlook view was far more disappointing than expected. They only had few tables by the glass window, couple of them were blocked by the ongoing construction. The overlook view was not great either. We ordered the preset course for two. The scallop was okay. Seafood risotto was average, the protein was good but risotto was too watery. Same for the ribeye, it wasn’t too flavorful and the bone marrow it came with also had no real taste. The drink, Dr. Kiwi, was good though. The service was excellent. They had a cube at the table that would notify the servers to order, refill order, clean table and to get check. Very unique way of making the process efficient. I just wish the overlook view and the food was better here.

This restaurant is called The Lookout Bistro, but there is not much to lookout for... 😂 Nevertheless the seating by the window is always nice. The service is actually not bad, the waiter took the time to answer our questions regard to the menu; when we finished our meal and was time for dessert, it was already pass the final ordering time, but our waiter managed to pushed through an order of pudding for us! The overall food quality was not bad, and I can tell there were some efforts put into creativity of the dishes... though you wont get any woos and wows in this restaurant. The pricing is ok, i wouldnt say it is: bang of the buck. But if you are in the mood of trying a new restaurant, it is still worth a shot.
