A hip and happening area, this district covers a square city block with the main avenue running north to south, with three intersecting side streets, running to the east.
The goods sold are predominantly young women's clothes and reminds me of a smaller, Ximending in Taipei or Yizhong night market in Taichung (specifically the side street, which sells clothes, not the main street which sells food). Since this market exist, there must be a school nearby.

Read moreIt used to be a very funky and hipster place where all the young wannabes hung out. However, Covid-19 changed everything and now, it is quite a sad sight. Literally rows of empty shops, even when I visited in the late afternoon, going evening when activities should be picking up or beginning to peak. Only a few street snack stalls around which we tried and tasted. Nothing spectacular. Wanted to try the famous Angel fried chicken cutlet but it was also not open. Sigh. Unless you have a specific target shop that you have in mind, otherwise, no point going there, until the area has been revived. Hope to see it back to its hey...
Read moreThis is relatively a small, less known and less crowded tourist market in Kaohsiung. It’s mostly kept clean by locals. They have some food stalls, stores for apparel, suitcases, electronic and fashion accessories, souvenir and gift shops. Shopkeepers are very nice and friendly. They try to help their best.
We spent about half an hour here to buy few small items. Prices were relatively lower compared to other markets I had been to. But the items we bought were severely lower quality. So it’s a nice place to visit to get some local market vibes, but I would not recommend doing much shopping...
