Good Man Coffee is a unique 24-hour café-restaurant in Kaohsiung that really comes alive from dinner through to the late-night hours. If you're looking for a spot that stays open round the clock, this place is definitely worth checking out.
The menu is impressively extensive, offering everything from coffee and drinks to full meals and even alcoholic options. However, be aware that most of the hot food items are only available during specific times—typically from 11:30am for lunch, and again at dinner. So if you're dropping by in the morning, don’t expect the full menu to be available.
We visited during breakfast hours and found the selection quite limited—mostly simple sandwiches, buns, and burgers. We tried the smoked chicken and cheese sandwich, which was decent in taste and satisfying enough for a light morning bite.
That said, the morning service experience left a bit to be desired. There was only one staff member handling everything—waitressing, cooking, making drinks, and running the cashier—so things moved a little slowly. Understandable given the quiet morning crowd, but still something to note.
Based on the lively crowd we saw at night and the much more exciting lunch/dinner menu, this place seems like it really shines later in the day. If you're in Kaohsiung and craving a late-night meal or a casual drink, Good Man Coffee might just be your spot. We’d definitely consider returning to try the full menu...
Read morePretty terrible experience for breakfast (although really my own fault- chose this place out of convenience). Ordered a club sandwich, which apparently translates to a tiny sandwich with pork floss, eggs, huge dollops of sweet mayo, and some other sweet oil or mustard? The menu is huge, but only one tiny section is available for breakfast (and very limited savory options for breakfast). I also ordered a mocha, which looked exactly like my friend's black coffee. When I asked the server whether a mistake was made, she said that this is how they make "their mocha" with "special beans".... it was definitely just black coffee, but $20 extra then the black coffee at around like $150 or something outrageous.
The environment/location is nice, and perhaps would be better for late night food? But definitely don't recommend for breakfast.
Service was also really slow considering there were only a few other tables. I speak Chinese so it wasn't really a foreigner communication...
Read moreVery poor service especially by the lady waitress in a ponytail. We were pretty much reprimanded for not noticing some items were not yet ready to order at the time we visited, instead of being told nicely.
Her other colleagues were also borderline rude when we asked for another set of cutlery, we were met with a loud “HUH” which did not sound professional or hospitable at all. Not to mention the loud slamming of plates and cutleries nearby at the service station.
Sadly, last time at this restaurant. Food wasn’t too bad, but service leaves more...
