They offer different set menus for two, three and four people. Their portions are pretty decent and filling. They have a lot of add-ons included on their sets depending on the one you choose, such as Tteok-bokki, Doenjang-jjigae, Bibimbap, Steamed Egg, etc. The main course of their sets are their meat platters, which are typically pork. You can add an extra fee to change it to beef but I don't recommend it because their beef isn't that good. Their side dishes, just like in Korea, can be refilled unlimitedly. The staff cooks everything for you, so you don't have to worry about that. The Steam Egg included in the sets can easily get burnt, or have a burnt taste, so be aware of that. The owner is Korean and sometimes the owner's wife will be at the store helping out. They also hire Korean exchange students, and they know their stuff. Most of the staff is alright, but some of the local staff have attitudes. It could be attributed to how busy it gets, but regardless, the service could be a lot better. There's a parking lot connected to the restaurant at the back, but they don't work together so you still have to pay for parking, and they aren't that many...
Read moreSo far amongst the best Korean food experiences I've had in Kaohsiung. Although that's not saying much because the Korean food here is generally is terrible. This restaurant clearly has a real Korean behind it, from the fluorescent orange decor to these Korean beer ads plastered shameless. Some very small Korean side dishes shallowly filled with Korean pickles accompanies the meal, and I think I was even able to get one free refill. Food quality is okay, Korean taste is authentic. The waitresses were like screaming at the squirrels running around the restaurant I'm terrified that they might have tripped over themselves or make a mistake else their Korean slave master would beat them thoroughly. While that is not an ideal service experience it is an authentic Korean one. I could tell long before the Korean the bosses came into the restaurant that the staff worked under mortal terror and that they must have a Korean boss. The menu was not put together very well put the food on all the tables looked pretty good. This is four stars because what it is and where it is. If you want Korean dining...
Read moreAny other kbbq place is better than here so stay away. And if you do want to go for whatever reason, bring mosquito repellent, and enjoy watching staff run around while eating subpar food!
This place has really gone down hill and I bet it's due to poor management who only cares about whatever profits they can squeeze out of their staff and customers. If he keeps this up, there won't be a restaurant anymore.
The food is disgusting and the staff is overworked. Every leaf of lettuce is rotting and discoloured. The place is infested with mosquitos. The meat are all super low quality cuts. Side dishes are still frozen. Soup is bland. The egg thing is the worst I've ever had. Seafood pancake is almost all powder. Even the tables are so small that they can't fit the standard set meal on. There's a strict 90 minute dining policy despite being half empty during dinner time rush hour on a Friday.
Staff are running around like headless chickens because they need to do so much. You can definitely tell the owner doesn't care for his staff...
