Cats’ Day — Restaurant in Luodong

Had an awesome cat night stay experience at Maode 😍 The room is decorated lovingly and the staff knows each cat inside out. We got our 2nd choice cat (Q比) as we lost our scissors paper stone bet to the other guests. But it is a blessing in disguise as QB is v chill and friendly. He is raised from young and knows how to interact and get attention. Although he will wake u up in the wee hours at 5 am by sleeping next to your head, he mostly sleeps at the edge of the bed. It was such a treat to detour on the way to Taitung after a long flight. The cafe/hotel is just a stone’s throw away from Luodong Night market and is very well maintained. Even as a cat owner, I had so much fun interacting with all the different personalities. You can choose one cat to be your roommate for the night and I had Q比. He was such a snuggle bug but he will voice his displeasure if he doesn’t get enough scratchies or if you are not hitting the right spot 🤭

Maybe it was the time of day that we arrived (about 3.30pm or 4pm) but almost all the cats were asleep. Only 1 or 2 were awake but did not engage much with us and mostly avoided humans. The first floor is mainly a shop selling souvenirs and stationery, and a few cats by the counter would be the main attraction to attract customers.
