if i were rating based solely on the classic hamburger i had then i’d only give this place 2 stars. the ingredients themselves are fine, but they like to slather the burger in this orange sauce that tastes suspiciously just like Bitchin’ Sauce from Costco. the problem with using such a tangy sauce with a heavy smoked chipotle flavor is that it basically covers up the taste of everything else. i thought they were only using this sauce for some halloween promo (hence the black buns) but was told that they always use this sauce. they used this sauce on the chili dog i ordered, too, which ended up being a horrifyingly salty mess that was borderline inedible. their cheese fries were already on the verge of being too salty, too, and i was disappointed that it wasn’t actual cheese sauce because the problem with just broiling shredded cheese on top like that is it solidifies into an unpleasant glob within a minute.
the only things i liked that i ordered were the normal hot dog (because there was none of that chipotle sauce to overpower the inherent flavor of the hot dog and because the hot dog had a good snap to it) and the vanilla shake which was proper thick and refreshing without being cloyingly sweet.
also, for whatever reason they play GTA radio. yes, from the video game (they were playing one of the stations from San Andreas when i was there). don’t know if it’s because they think it’s funny or if they genuinely don’t know how else to get classic American music, so enjoy the amusing faux radio commentary and Weasel News Network lol
and lastly, this place is expensive for what you get. i went there right when it opened at 5:30 PM, and for the entire two hours i was there at prime dinner time on a Tuesday, there was only ever literally one other table of two. that is not a good sign at all, but i mean, my order of one (small) burger, two decently sized hot dogs, one absurdly large order of cheese fries, one vanilla shake, and one (small) can of sparkling water ran me nearly 1000 NT which is just really ridiculous and definitely not worth the quality...
Read more我最喜歡是那個 Peanut Butter Caramel Milkshake 因為在台北比較難找到 Milkshake. The fried chicken tenders aka "Big Al's Fried Chicken" (200NT) is a must try, although the red sauce with white cream is mysterious. You often have to wait like 45 minutes or an hour to get seated during busy hours (that's if you want to sit inside) 然後後來 the Peanut Butter Chocolate Burger is aiite but you can't really taste the chocolate or peanut butter. The onsite manager Aveeda (Vita? Evita?) Is pretty chill. I haven't met Big Al, I don't think he ever shows up at the shop, but from what I heard he's from Hong Kong. So anyways, the go-to is the Caramel Milkshake and the Fried Chicken Tenders. I would recommend that they also serve double-patty burgers for those of us with a bigger appetite (aka Westerners 😆) and possibly add like a Oreo Cookie shake or a Mint Chocolate Chip milkshake. 最後,I feel like the people who gave this place 1 star 沒有耐心 don't have the patience to wait for food lol and they haven't tried...
Read moreWonderful burger and fries!
Was craving a burger, and this place did not disappoint. Sandwiched between a soft brioche bun, the burger patty was loosely formed (as it should be) and well cooked. So, it was juicy and tender without being overly greasy. The veggies were crisp, the grilled onions were sweet, and the sauce was great. It had a slight chili pepper flavor, which was a nice surprise.
The fries were great too. Perfectly crisp, with mushy centers. The seasoning consisted of some dried herbs (maybe Italian seasoning?) alone with some salt and a tiny bit of sugar. A bit different than what I'm used to, but delicious nonetheless.
Washed it down with a cold coke, and I was in burger heaven. I only visited once, so I can't speak to their...
