This is just my personal experience — hope it helps others decide.
We chose this place mainly because there’s no service charge, the menu had photos (which I always appreciate), and the food/prices looked decent.
The ordering system was pretty frustrating — the screen froze several times before we could finally place our order.
As for the service: there really isn’t any, but that’s expected since they don’t charge for it. What was harder to accept was the wait time — it took nearly 40 minutes for the food to come out. That’s a long wait when dining is limited to 90 minutes. If you eat slowly or like to chat while eating, it feels rushed and stressful. It’s not just a “don’t come if you’re in a hurry” situation — the timing just doesn’t work well.
The space is also pretty tight. The tables are small and seating is cramped. If you’re carrying anything more than a small bag, you’ll probably end up putting it on the floor.
We tried four kinds of pasta. Only the pesto had a nice, rich sauce. The others were really watery — they had flavor, but the sauces didn’t cling to the pasta like they should. The mentaiko one tasted more like it was mixed with mayo, which was confusing. I now get what other reviews meant by “soupy pasta.”
The included black tea was just basic. I don’t expect much from complimentary drinks anyway — sometimes I think it’s better not to offer them at all. But some people might like the extra touch.
One heads-up: the listing mentions parking, but it might just mean scooter parking. If you’re driving, plan accordingly.
The restaurant has a note saying they’re not welcoming to difficult customers. Not sure if we count as “difficult” coming from overseas, but this is just my honest opinion based on our visit. Personally, I wouldn’t come back.
Wishing them all...
Read moreOne of the comfort food here in Taichung. My favorites is their fruit youghurt salad which serve a very big portion with high quality fruits, all the fruits are very good, combine with bread and honey make it even better and can make you full.
Another foods that we try and fell in love is their prawn laksa, the prawn, oyster and clam are really fresh with big size. Its really statifying to have it.
This is our second visit and yet it still very memorable and nice experience. Ahh and the man who running the restaurant is very fast response and have a good english to help us, he is also...
Read moreReally surprised and impressed with the good quality and wonderful flavor of the dishes we ordered. My Fried Chicken pasta with Basil sauce has the “Italian taste” that I had in Florence last summer. Highly recommended. My parents’ Beef Bourguignon and Seafood with Tomato Sauce are also pretty good. I have to say the price of foods in Taiwan is very reasonable and this restaurant provides great value. I definitely will come back and recommend to my friends coming...
