Got it recommended by some friends that grew up and lived around Taichung - and it's definitely worth a visit!
While ordering, they even got us someone who's able to speak a bit english! :) We ate the steam buns (vegetable & pork) and even though we didn't know, if there's a specific way to eat them - we enjoyed them so much 👍🏼 You have to be a bit careful with your first bite into the pork ones, as there is a soup inside that's very hot and can easily burn your mouth...but that's common sense, as they are fresh out of the steamer...
The soy milk we got with the buns had a perfect level of sweetness and was just awesome. We saw many locals ordering their food here while we enjoyed our steam buns.
Would definitely recommend to any traveller, that seeks a good breakfast and a local...

For the independent traveler/ backpacker who is looking for some authentic local flavor for breakfast, I highly recommend this place. This place has no outdoor signage- just head down Dayong Street, this is on the corner of Xinyi Street (信義街) and Dayong Street (大勇街). The menu is in Chinese, but pretty simple. Try a couple of the traditional meat buns for $16NT each and wash down with a cup of warm fresh soy milk. They have a vegetarian bun for the same price....

Ordering their super yummy and large soup buns - you can choose from vegetarian with vegetables or with pork. Two woman can speek english - so no problem for non- chinese speeker :) The area to eat is also very nice & clean. You have some sauces to eat with and everything else you need. We ordered one milk tea as well (very goood!) and we got a free soy milk which was reaaallly yummy!
