This was the second time I had stayed at the hotel. I had fond memories of my stay here. The room was good and the location stays convenient (of course). But this time I had an unpleasant experience when I was checking in.
I booked the room via a friend in Taiwan. When I arrived at the hotel at 11 a.m. on Saturday 12th November, and told the manager at the front desk that I had a booking, producing my Alien Resident Card. He told me he could not find my booking and asked me who's the one who made the booking. I produced the name and he said there's no such name. I found it strange and tried to ask a couple more questions. He then told me to step aside (so that he could serve other customers). I found him very rude because he never checked carefully for me. I subsequently found that my name was down as the guest name but since my friend asked her assistant to do the booking so I produced the wrong name.
I felt all the time the manager was trying to prove that I was an impersonator instead of trying to look for information to verify my booking. And what had they got to lose if they gave me a room there and then?! The manager, out of sheer arrogance, said they had free rooms but they are on the expensive side - TW$3,400. The room my friend booked for me cost $3,840.
I was very disappointed as I remember I received good service when I stayed here a few years ago. The service provided at the front desk now is totally inept. Perhaps the staff need better training in hospitality. It's just a shame that a hotel with such good hardware is now undermined by a couple of staff with poor...
Read moreLooking at the pictures on agoda, was quite excited to book this hotel even tho it was abit far from places I wanted to go. 1)Room was very dim, and it kind of took a strain on my eyes, having been there for three nights, and watching tv wasn’t an ideal situation at all. Room layout also made the room seem small and cluttered. 2)There wasn’t any overhead rack in the toilet, which is weird. 3)There was an overhead rain shower but it was super noisy, I couldn’t even use it. 4)The handheld shower head was connected to the bathtub and had to be pulled out of a outlet to use, however whenever I pulled it out, it just sprung back in, and it really took a lot of work and energy just to have a shower. 5)Was looking forwards to the bathtub, but the whole shower area was so dim too, that it made the environment seem so eerie , I didn’t even take a soak in the bathtub the entire trip. 6)They didn’t bother to replace me with new room slippers at all. Had to reuse the old one. Slippers were also so thin, immediately when I step into the toilet or over abit of water, it soaked through completely. 7) Only good part of the room for me was the bed. It was really comfy and the television had many channels too! Overall, I won’t be back. Room facilities and all, it’s definitely not worth the price and I don’t know why it’s a 4...
Read moreAs a seasoned traveler, I was intrigued to check out the In House Hotel in Taichung. While the location was not exactly ideal, the affordable price made it a worthy choice, especially during a busy long weekend. Although the rooms were not particularly spacious, they were smartly designed and equipped with the latest features. But the real standout feature was the bed - it was truly comfortable and made for a great night's sleep.
One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's buffet. The continental food selection was simply outstanding, especially considering the affordable price point of the hotel. It was a refreshing change from the typical Taiwanese breakfast fare, and I particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit and variety of pastries on offer.
While the hotel itself is quite old, it has been thoughtfully refurbished with modern design elements and high-quality amenities. The overall atmosphere is clean, bright, and welcoming. Overall, I would definitely recommend In House Hotel for travelers looking for a comfortable stay at an affordable price. Bon boyage...
