阿裕壽司 — Restaurant in Taichung

Queues were really long when I visited at about 4.20pm this weekend. However, service is fast and efficient, everything processed like clockwork. We ordered the sashimi belly this time being our second visit to the stall and were stunned by the size of the fish slices. The serving size of the chawanmushi far outweighed the price paid for it, furthermore tasted exceptional with a clam and mushrooms included. 2 decent sized ikura (salmon roe) gunkans cost us 100 TWD for the pair. Good place to get affordable sushi! The comprehensive sashimi set (about 10 pieces) is generously thick cut with shiso leaves and shredded white radish for 150nt. I also got a comprehensive roll set (about eight slices) for 85. Rolls are good but I'm personally not a huge fan of ham or pork floss (they're ok but so strong flavored and one note) that those rolls were a little too similar towards the end, but that's totally personal preference- next time I'd get nigiri and sashimi and their famous fish miso soup! P.s. long lines but move quick so maybe only around a 6 minute wait, and fast good service...

This is touted as the sushi place with the best value in Taichung, and is quite popular with the locals. You can tel by the long lines forming outside of the store. They are pretty busy everyday, so make sure you allocate enough time to come here to pick up the sushi you want. I didn't think their pricing was all that great, and their portion, like many other Taiwanese restaurants, were fairly small.
