Evergreen Laurel Hotel (Taichung) — Hotel in Taichung

Good:

Restaurant: Because we decided to have the dinner in the hotel for a short notice so we had the dinner there before one and half hour on their closing time. They reminded the time which closed to their closing time politely and helped us to clean the table immediately. For the dishes, it was a buffet style and they also provided the pasta which you could choose the ingredients you like and they will run it to you. For the breakfast, they also provided the pancake with honey, it was really delicious. The atmosphere there was very good and the seat didn’t too tight to walk which made me feel comfortable. In addition, the service there was very good. Room: We lived in the deluxe room with two double beds and one single bed. The room was very big and clean. However, I thought a little pity that the pillow was too soft to sleep. By the way, they also provided some fruit and cookies for us to eat.

Bad: Fix outside of the wall: They fixed their outside wall of the hotel and the swimming was under renovation at that time (August, 2018). Therefore, it was so pity that couldn’t see the beautiful view, enjoy the sunshine in the morning and swimming there.

Overall: My family and I had been to Evergreen Hotel twice. I think maybe next time I will visit there if they replace the pillow. For the restaurant, if there is a chance, I will invite my friends to have a...

Our 3rd stop of a 2 week half island leisure tour.

A family of 2A2C, we stopped by for 3 Nights. Booked the deluxe family room for 4 on standard floors. Booked five months in advance and got a good deal for it. Correspondance was professional and prompt.

Upon check in, everything was smooth. Hotel looks dated but the quality of construction and care is evident. There is a grand old charm about the hotel. Dated but classy and good.

The room upon entering didn't dissapoint either. It is spacious and very comfortable. Room's conditioning is well regulated and a request for loccitane toiletries was acceded. Thoughtful!

I would give this place a 5 star for the quality of care and service. Dated but it far surpasses my expectations despite the initial mixed reservations.

In summary, quality care, professional warmth and very comfortable beds for the tourist traveller. Do remember to request for extra pillows if it seems too soft for you.

The hotel has won the reputation in Taichung in old times, however my family (11 people) lunch here today at 2F restaurant really disappointed us. In the beginning we asked about the flower exhibition project, the waitress said no we could not so no 20% off and this project could not be used for holidays. But the website only said not applicable during Chinese New Year. Starting from ordering, the waitress did not even know how to make recommendations for restaurant specialties and looked like in a bad mood. When we asked how many dishes we order, she just named every dish we ordered without a summary. Like simply we expect them to say, in total you have ordered 5 dishes, 2 snacks and no soup.
