First, the NIGHT DESK woman at the front was really nice and welcoming. Although English is not her first language, she tries nonetheless.
The morning desk woman is mean. She looks at me going down the stairs toward her but never says good morning to me.
We checked out using the computer kiosk, but this morning lady at the front desk completely ignored us without saying thank you OR goodbye OR anything at all. She just looked at us weird. It's really something shocking for us.
The room and the bathroom were large and clean. The split type AC was somewhat weak
The bathroom had an exhaust fan. A hairdryer, slippers, shampoo, body soap, coffee mugs, and coffee were provided.
The lobby has free coffee and tea from the Alishan and Sun Moon area.
Lobby wifi was clocked at 17MBPS while room wifi was clocked at 6MBPS (ookla test).
Didn't like the fact that, for security purposes, there was no peek hole on the door, and only one key was provided to both of us.
Nonetheless, I would still recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, welcoming NIGHT front desk, and an inviting lobby to sit down and drink...
Read moreUnpleasant stay and experience that started at the very beginning – POOR PARKING SERVICE: The hotel offers a subsidy of NT$150 for parking in certain car parks. Those car parks are scattered around the hotel and are subject to demand but the staff are too poor-trained to tell you the exact place of those car parks and can neither tell you whether there are still parking spaces available. Took around 40 minutes to finally find a parking lot and it turned out that the car park was not a subsidised one. POOR IN-ROOM FACILITY: the AC was leaking water and making noises. When reported to the staff, they told us with clueless look on the face that we won’t hear the noises after falling asleep, which further enraged us. POOR-TRAINED STAFF: The staff and the night manager were good at shirking their duties and finding excuses but were unable to find a proper solution until we offer one. We just found that these were all repeated complaints so please read through the comments before you make reservations...
Read moreNot sure if the hotel is "unique" but the lobby aesthetics is very beautiful and industrial chic. The wood tones bring a sense of coziness when you walk in.
The front desk who checked us in in the evening was very nice and friendly. The morning front desk not so much. Not even a hi or a smile. They just pretend you're not there with no acknowledgement of your presence. This happened two days in a a row.
There is free water, coffee and tea in the lobby. Wifi is available in the lobby and rooms.
The rooms are a good size but the windows are small and do not really let in natural light. The AC is very weak in the rooms and isn't cool enough.
However, there is a TV that connects to YouTube. The bathroom is also quite spacious and large. There's a small fridge, hair dryer, and electrical sockets compatible with US appliances.
Location isn't the best as it's not very central and about a 20 min walk from the Taichung train station.
But I...
