Tripodking Taichung Hankou Branch — Restaurant in Taichung

Tripod King Hotpot is a chain of restaurants recommended by a friend who is also visiting Taiwan at the same time as us. Since he is a foodie, we decided to give it a try. He told me that there's duck blood (unlimited servings) and that they were "shiok" meaning uber delicious! Reservation in advance is highly recommended and dining time is up to 90 minutes each session. The ribeye beef was exceptionally good. The mala soup base were not too spicy or numbing but I guess you can dictate the level of heat. Food is fresh and service excellent at the Han Kou branch where we ate. BTW, both the hot tea and the cold chrysanthemum tea with wolfberries were delicious! We spent about NT$3400 for 4 adults and 3 children between 1 to 4...

My fave mala hotpot place in Taiwan. The mala soup doesn’t have the usual bits and pieces of spices added so I can have the soup at ease. The service was great also!
