A hidden gem in Tainan. If it wasn't Google Maps, I wouldn't notice this place. It was in the alley of an alley. The overall experience here was great. I gave it a 5-star.
FOOD Their main selling items are the oysters. They got 5 types of oyster (4 from France and 1 from Japan). I got the Home Run Platter where you get one of each for NT$900. Or, you could order the type you like for NT$150-$280/each. They were pretty fresh, but not really my favorite, unfortunately. I had a chat with the owner, and the majority of the oysters searved in Taiwan are imported from Japan, France, and England. Sorry, I'm more of a US East Coast oyster fan.
They also got some small plates. I tried the diced pork knuckle during the same visit. It was pretty tasty. The portion was perfect for a glass of wine/beer/cocktail and small chat with friends and family.
They have a wine list. I'm not really a wine drinker, so I opted for a bottle of beer. They had 5 types of beer when I visited, all imported from Spain. Nice cold beer for this hot summer in Tainan is perfect! They also had a beer promo of buy 2 get 1 free (specific type) on weekday.
SERVICE I would say the service was great. The two owners are pretty down to earth. They are local Tainanese, and they even recommended some local must-have.
ATMOSPHERE Very quiet and chill place for a drink by yourself or with friends and family. (Probably not for young children).
Anyway, if you would like to have a drink at a nice quiet hole-in-the-wall place. This is it!
Disclaimer: I did receive a free bottle of beer by writing this review. But, I would still give them 5 stars even without...

The quaint atmosphere with smooth jazz music is the perfect place to enjoy a nice glass of merlot or cocktail after work. They have an amazing selection of oysters from different regions including Japan which was very sweet and has the perfect ocean taste. We also had the appetizer platter, shrimp soup, and a sparklimg pomegranate drink to go along with some oysters. I highly recommend trying this bar to spend some quality time with some...
Read moreL’Oceanic Oyster Bar is such a hidden gem. Situated in a quiet residential area, this restaurant has a cozy and relaxing ambience with a lot of greenery and beautiful lighting. We ordered the mixed platter and La Friandise oysters. The sweetness and the silky texture reminded me of the Kumamoto oysters, but La Friandise were more plump with a hint of cucumber. We were pleasantly surprised and would definitely come...
