東京串燒酒場 — Restaurant in Taipei

A MUST TRY! ✨ Calling a restaurant a “favorite” in Taiwan takes ALOT… but this place has everything you could need. Great drinks, friendly service, enticing atmosphere and; most importantly… Amazing food 😍🍻🍸 They have an extensive cocktail and shot menu with weekly specials. Slightly less beer options but still a wide variety to choose from… best of all, the beers are perfectly chilled and refreshing 🍺 It’s super easy to over order here… and I doubt any options would be a bad choice, but my “must tries” are:

Underwhelming

Pretty location and nice atmosphere, but we were expecting more from the food. Most items we ordered were far from perfect. The beef skewer was overcooked and chewy, the onion skewer was undercooked and so raw we could hardly eat. The mushroom skewer and the chicken corn soup lacked any flavor, reminding me of school canteen food. The only item we really liked was chicken cumin skewers, they had a nice crust and good flavor.

Also, they do not serve water to customers except for tiny and expensive bottles of Evian which I think is frankly rude - don't force your customers to chose between being thirsty or wasting money.

Finally, the waitress that served us had some sort of attitude, not very patient or polite with us. That rounds of an overall...

Very good Izakaya. Ordered a lot of food, and everything was good. Tried the Harry Potter Butter Beer too, and although I might not get it again, it was still pretty good and fun to try. Service was fast, professional, and helpful. Overall everything was good and I’ll definitely come back here again. A cool spot away from the central blur...
