Backpackers hostel 背包棧旅店 — Hotel in Taipei

-no elevator -no separation between shower and toilet so water gets everywhere. Shower area is very very small and the water does not drain quite right; caution if you fall easily. -no flushing toilet paper, must throw away toilet paper in the trash -bed is very short; over 5’8”/174cm your feet and head will both touch the wall. Firm mattress that squeaks a bit when you move (bunk beds). -staff was nice and helped us after check in hours -room wifi is bad -curtain to close off bunkbed works well to block light and sounds -only shampoo, soap, hair dryer, and safe provided; no towel, toothbrush, refrigerator, TV -a little far from the main station, but not terrible to walk to or take a bus to -air conditioner worked well and was very strong -super strong...

This hostel is good for single travelers. We stayed here as a couple in the private room. We payed 12.150$ for 8 nights and after checking more hotels in this area, I regretted booking this hostel. For this price you can find much bigger rooms in the same area. The space was my main problem, it’s too small. The towels won’t dry and you always have a muddy smell/ wet sheets in the room. There is no room service but they will clean the bathroom after you ask the front desk. The WiFi in the room is super bad, but in the basement it works quite well. The best place ever!!! Everything was perfect! The location is amazing, in the heart of Ximen, shops, restaurants, 7-11, supermarket right outside, night market 2 minutes away, the rainbow crossing, all the transport. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. They speak English which makes it easy to ask questions and get directions. The room was big, clean with private bathroom, mattress super comfortable and air condition worked amazing.
