A rare gem of a coffeehouse — if better exists in Taipei, I have yet to find it. In fact, I hesitate to write this review as I rather wish to keep the place as much to myself as possible. But the business is great and deserves glowing praise, so I must acquiesce.

The barista (Jake) is warm, kind, and excellent at his craft. Too many coffeeshops in Taipei are operated by folks who don't know espresso (perhaps don't even drink it), and are unaware of international espresso standards. Jake clearly knows both. When I ordered the cortado (piccolo), I was asked if I wanted it hot or iced. ("You're able to make it iced?" / "Of course.") This is in stark contrast to other locations that keep a rigidly fixed menu and do not understand the concept of a fixed dose of espresso, around which the quantity of milk is varied (latte - flat white - cortado, in order of decreasing milk). The quantity and method of milk is central to the espresso experience, and this establishment understands that.

Beyond the coffee, as someone concerned (obsessed?) with public health and sanitation, I am extremely happy they keep a small window open for ventilation and take care to thoroughly clean surfaces after customers depart. The bathroom has alcohol for spraying hands before touching the doorknob.

The location is also beautiful, with windows letting in maximum western light, and a splendid view of Taipei 101 just outside. The culture of the place is rather quiet and studious, which is perfect for reading, meditation, and perhaps light conversation.

No perfect business exists, but it's hard to imagine one much...

I really like the deco and menu design here. The furnitures they use are also cozy.

Coffee was very delicious. If I must say, the only thing is their price. Ice latte w oatmilk is around $190 and is not especially big. I would say it's a big pricy. Other than that, I really...

Cute little cafe in a quiet alley. Wide selection of pour over coffees, though you may find better coffee qualities in other cafes in the city. Offers some small pastries as well.
