Among the best espresso in Taipei and anywhere. Vibe similar to St. Kilda's on 44th/9th in NYC, but cleaner. Eclectic music gives a worldly feel, but at an appropriately low volume. Staff are incredibly friendly and relatable — something of a rarity at coffeehouses of this caliber. There is no WiFi, but the environment is perfect for reading and working. I'm not into drip, but the owner appears to be a local sensation with his expertise on full display as people watch and listen at the bartop. I often go to coffee shops here and get a a quick espresso. Some shops understand the culture of a quick shot and some think explaining their rules of time limits is more important. In this case, it was the latter. The first person who helped me made me feel like I was being lectured and when I told her I was going to be quick she scoffed and stopped helping me. The second was quite friendly and hospitable.
