What a stupid anti-customer policy! I arrived at 20:00, after cycling 30 minutes through the rain just to come here (check my bag in the CCTV; it still has the plastic bag sticking out of it that I used to cover the bike seat), and I want to order several cakes to eat. I am not allowed to! I am told I must order a drink, or they will kick me back out into the rain. Even though the café is totally empty!
I think that is shortsighted. I want to order a chocolate cake and a brownie to eat. In any of the 54 (!!!) empty seats. At 8 PM. There are 54 empty seats. And they are not going to make money from me because I am not allowed to sit down with my chocolate cake. Remove this terrible minimum order policy, greedy owner.
This rule makes it obvious that not only do you hate your customers, you also hate human beings. Any kind human being would allow someone to shelter in their TOTALLY EMPTY business for a short time while it is pouring down with rain outside. but instead, your staff members are prepared to sell me a little bag with a cake in it, and then kick me out of the shop. That is so hilarious, children's cartoon...

I simply came in to eat so I didn't check out all the seating arrangements, but there were many. The food menu is pretty limited; I ordered the corn soup in a bread bowl and a hot chocolate. The small salad was delicious, if a bit watery, and the hot chocolate was nice and creamy; it wasn't overly watery like some others and it wasn't very sweet, which I liked. The soup was fine, all in all it made for a satiating meal. I wanted to try the chocolate cake but I was too full.
I walked in with no problem but if you know you want to go in advance then consider reserving a spot as it does get busy and people stay...
Read moreI just recently discovered this neighborhood coffee shop tucked away in an alley. Wow, this place is so beautiful, spacious, clean, and very welcoming. This is my new favorite coffee shop in Taipei! The atmosphere is relaxing, the AC is cool, and the soft background music is soothing. The coffees and desserts are really nice and they offer a small snack menu. Cafe Raco is the perfect place to do some work, meet a friend for a drink, have afternoon tea, or have a business meeting with a colleague. I highly recommend this place and will be...
