We stayed at the hotel above and decided to have lunch here on a Fri. It was pretty full, but we got a table right away. There was a min order of a main course per person. I would have ordered the wagyu if it was a min amount instead of min order. Oh well.
The restaurant has a characteristic and elegant look. The food is very nicely done. It's sophisticated with subtleties. The filet mignon I got was perfectly cooked. The sauces that came with it were fantastic. It was satisfying in many ways. The lobster and the shrimp tasted alright. I felt that the shrimp tasted a little tough. The gnocchi with the pesto sauce was awesome. I didn't think I was going to eat a lot and I almost finished it. The garlic bread was well received. Risotto was al dente! Tiramisù was outstanding. My espresso cup was warmed! The salad and soup were nicely done. The restrooms were outside of the restaurant. My overall experience is great and I highly...
Read moremy gnocchi with cheese and tomato were cooked not in Italian style. Gnocchi were boiled then grilled instead of only boiling and tomato was raw. Never seen that. Cheese for sure was not italian. I would say that dish was not italian since I’m italian and I can tell it. The waitress/manager was very nice to tell me that this is their original way to cook that dish. Then She treated me with real gnocchi with pumpkin and it was really delicious. They also treated me with tea, I guess because I was waiting too long time and my partner had almost finished her dish. I read many bad reviews about table staff but I just can say good about them. Good restaurant but as most of Italian restaurants in Taipei some real and delicious dishes and some dishes cooked in Taiwanese way. I strongly recommend pumpkin gnocchi, lobster pasta( real and delicious hand made pasta) and of course their tiramisu! I will...
Read moreThis is the worst ribeyes I have ever had, when the waiter asked me about the steak, she offered medium rare and medium. Of course I chose modern rare which is the way I eat ribeye. And they claim their ribeye is USDA premium, but it doesn’t look like and test like.
It’s very loose and fatty meat. The fat I already cut, but it’s like there is some adding fat in between the meat. I have to spit out because it’s so disgusting to chew.
When I tell the waiter the meat situation, he replies me: it’s ribeye, more fat, and we suggested to eat in medium and medium well so the tendon is easier ro chew.
I was like: ? Listen to yourself.
Anyway, the waiter is cold (maybe I arrive around 1:30, so they are in the mood to rest) and the food is really no good.
The steak I order is 8onz~ can tell how...
