Best pizza in Yilan, and one of the best in Taiwan!
Some of the best pizza in Taiwan is made in a cozy B&B in Yilan! My wife and I visited Eddie’s pizzeria with a group of friends this week and left very impressed.
It was a pleasant dining experience from start to finish. We were warmly greeted by proprietors Eddie and Sintty who were very hospitable throughout the evening. The dining room is on the first floor of the B&B with a large dining table that is perfect for small groups.
The pizzas were outstanding and you could tell that Eddie put a lot of love into each pie. Style wise I would describe them as Napoli meets NYC. The crust had a nice chewiness and light char to it similar to Napoli but with a decent firmness and not floppy. The pizzas were served with attention to detail. For example, instead of just being served on a tray or plate, they were served on top of a cooling rack to ensure the pizzas don’t get too wet from steam condensation.
We tried almost everything on the menu and a few items that weren’t even on the menu. There were classics like Margherita and also some very nice custom creations such as the Cherry Duck Pizza and the Italian Style Pork Sausage pizza. The sausage pizza was made in a delicious vodka penne sauce that was flavorful and one of my favorites of the evening along with the Taco pizza not on the menu.
I highly recommend Eddie’s for anyone visiting the region or anyone that doesn’t mind a short drive for a special experience. We’ll definitely be...
Read moreWe are a group of Taiwanese and Koreans with two little kids who visited tonight. First of all, the pizzas were absolutely irresistible. You’ll never truly understand all the positive Google reviews until you experience them yourself. The shop owner, Eddie, and his wife (apologies, I forgot to ask her name) were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Once we started chatting, we quickly discovered we had quite a few things in common. For example, their daughter in law is Korean, just like my wife. Eddie also shares an interest in history, including World War II (you'll be amazed by all those delicate toy soldiers, each one handmade by Eddie), and one of the places he hopes to visit is Okinawa, where I currently work. This isn’t just a place to enjoy amazing pizza, but also somewhere you can make meaningful connections with people who are open-hearted and full of love. I'll see u...
Read moreI’ve been a pizza fan for decades and have had a pizza oven in my backyard for most of that. Work has taken me to NYC and Connecticut many times where I was fortunate enough to try some of the best pizzerias. I also ended up in Naples, Italy where I was able to try the best there. Needless to say, when I moved to Taiwan for work, pizza was not on my list of things to seek out. Surfing is another passion which took me to the east coast. I was hungry and had some time to kill, I googled Toucheng restaurants and landed on Eddie’s Page. The pictures looked great but I was still skeptical. Let me tell you, Eddie’s pizza is outstanding. It is as good as the top-rated places in NYC / CT / Naples that I’ve been to – better than many of them. It’s a perfect blend between Neapolitan and classic NYC / leaning towards NYC. To top it off, both Eddie and his wife...
