Lao Wang Yuan Zhi Beef Noodle Restaurant — Restaurant in Xinyi District

Ordered the beef noodle clear broth soup dish. The beef was very tender and juicy with some very nice pieces of sinew or tendon still attached. The pig ear appetizer was served warm and delicious. The pork belly rice was very tasty and complimented a bowl of wonton soup perfectly. The wonton had nice smooth and firm pork inside. The complimentary tofu drink and black tea was a nice bonus. The restaurant and restroom were both bright and clean. I’ve tried two other beef noodle soup restaurants in Taipei and both had tender but very lean meat. I much prefer juicier beef over dry lean meat so I’ll definitely be back for more. The staff were also very friendly and courteous. 👍🙏 Update: I’ve been back twice more and confirmed that the beef noodle soup consistently provides nice tender slippery beef shank. Great big, tender pieces of beef in a noodle soup. (Other options include beef with tendon or beef with intestine/tripe(?) (didn’t understand the chinese term). They also offer free fresh sweet soymilk & tea as beverages. Staff explained the Large size noodle soup comes with more pieces of beef rather than more noodles which is what I wanted.

Also, it’s been my experience that often if you order at your average restaurant a run-of-the-mill beef noodle soup on a typical menu, it will NOT include pieces of beef which is disappointing. It’s understood—here (I believe)—that u’re ordering beef (broth) noodle soup. But this restaurant is A++++++ when what you want & crave is big pieces of beef in a tasty, noodle soup. Will not disappoint. ;)

Great beef noodle in Taipei. They even accept credit card which is very unusual for these kid of the restaurants. The beef noodle soup has great taste and not too salty. There are 2 types of noodles, thin and thick. They also offer free tea and soy milk.

I've never tried their dry noodles but it looks good as well.

I forgot to mention that they offer clear, braised soup base.
