Definitely not the cheapest place to go for lunch. It runs 950NT / person for lunch. The quality of the food is well worth the price tag and the breadth of the selection is diverse. Most everything here tasted decent and I didn't have any real complaints with what I ate. The prime rib was tender and juicy, the soups were refreshing. The deserts were well made and not overly sweet. There's a selection of 3 beers on tap and some wine. Some of the largest shrimp I've ever had were freshly cooked and served. They give you a table card which you can provide for certain dishes that require more cooking time so they can bring it to you. All you can eat Häagen-Dazs ice cream is always a pleasant surprise but a fairly common staple in Taiwan buffets. If you want a good balance of quality and selection for your buffet trip then give this place a try. But honestly, no one can ever eat 950NT worth of food at a...
Overall, the food quality was rather disappointing. • Sashimi: Bland and tasteless. The salmon lacked its natural flavor and oiliness, and the scallops were also flavorless. • Chilled Shrimp: Acceptable, with a nice crunchy texture. • Freshly Sliced Steak: Visually appealing, but lacked any flavor. Even with rose salt, it was hard to swallow. It just felt unappetizing. • Grilled Baby Squid: Slightly flavorful, but the tentacles were overcooked and tough to chew. • Steamed Crab: Looked hot, but was actually cold. Some of the crab meat even had a musty taste. • Dry-Braised Shrimp: Looked good, juicy when bitten, and the shrimp meat was firm and fresh. • Grilled Oysters: Visually appealing and tasted okay thanks to the sauce and lemon. The couple at the next table only ate this dish throughout the meal. • Plum duck: Thought it would be served warm or hot—it was cold, which didn’t feel intentional. • Dim Sum: Didn’t try, so no comments. • Diced Pork Cubes: Also lacked flavor. • Crème Brûlée: Tasted fine, though the caramel top was too thick. Still, I ended up eating quite a lot of it. • Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream: Tasted good, but I only had a little because all the earlier dishes had spoiled my appetite. • Drinks: The citrus lemon flavor was alright, but lacked ice, so it wasn’t cold enough. Apparently, the ice was reserved for plum wine only. Overall, drink choices were limited and mostly from concentrates.
In summary: There was a wide variety of dishes, but none were particularly appealing. The quality really needs improvement. The food didn’t whet my appetite, and I left without feeling full. I noticed many guests eating very little and spending more time on their phones than...
Read moreAt NT1000, the lunch buffet here was worth the detour. I'm glad I gave it a shot! Sushi and Sashimi options were above average. Fresh, flavorful, and all the usual suspects were present. All the cooked food was well made and they offered so many options that I literally could not try them all. The pekin-style duck was as good as specialty restaurant. The chef making the clam soup cooked my clams perfectly. For dessert, they had a good mix of western and pacific-asian desserts. Compared to the photos from years past, the current offering was not as grand, but quality and value proposition are excellent compared to the other buffets I've...
