Late night spot for gyudon and curry bowls of all sorts!
So glad to have stumbled onto it. It looks like Sukiya has numerous branches around Taipei.
We dined in, got seated at a table. The waiter came to take our order, then brought the food along with a receipt which we pay for before leaving.
When done eating you may leave your trays and pay at the front. I don’t believe they accepted credit card so we paid in cash.
As far as food variety I was impressed to see that you could basically increase the portion sizing to suit your hunger. My wife and I split a big bowl set of gyudon+curry on our first night visit, and the next night tried separate items one size down.
Would definitely visit again as an alternative to a 7/11 for later...
Read morePretty solid cheap and filling food and good for all night, but definitely depends on what you order~ Love their chicken mayo rice with a poached egg and green onion- creamy, satisfying and flavorful. Their kimchi pork bowl and cheese pork bowl are also solid. However their croquettes (deep fried mashed potato patties with ground beef) are pretty bland even though the texture is good, so I wouldn't order it again, and the miso soup is standard. The stir fries greens change seasonally so don't expect the same vegetable the menu photo shows also don't like the taste of their pickled ginger 😆 so depends on what you get! I wonder if their eel is decent, but for that price point I'd probably just go to an eel...
Read moreThis place offers very affordable food and serves 24/7. It is great for people like me who work late and need to grab something to eat before heading home. It is also a great place for people who dine alone. I think the food is delicious and always order the beef curry with cheese and egg on top. Although the seats are quite small, it is definitely enough for people who dine alone or tables for two. I don't recommend this place for large groups since they don't have tables that are that big. It is better to find a place that offers better experiences for groups than this place. Other than that, this...
