I have to said the dinning experience at Songhe restaurants in this hotel was really bad. Food were not really special, the service quality was even worse. They were promoting their restaurant voucher for weekend morning or afternoon tea set, however, after trying several times, it was always fully booked, you will not get a chance to use your voucher, fortunately you can use it as cash in the hotel, so we decide to book a lunch at Yuan restaurant, The overall dinning experience is fantastic, the food quality and the service is very good, compared with Songhe, this one is really worth of the hotel name. The price of course is not cheap however, you can be guaranteed the same level of the food quality and taste, plus there is a young sales lady in the lobby where they sell the souvenirs, she is very friendly, and she provide additional service then she needed, we ere very impressed by her, therefore I gave 2more stars to the review...
Read moreWe took our grandkids from the US to this wonderful restaurant. We were worried that they would be picky and not like the authentic Chinese foods. Totally opposite!!! They LOVED EVERYTHING we ordered!!! Even the sea cucumbers with meats!!! From all the exotic and flavorful foods, crystal flake pot stickers, vegetables, down to the dates wrapped mochi, they polished everything!!! My husband hardly ate a bite because he was too slow!!! We were even too slow to take pictures of the foods, haha. I love the authentic provincial flavor. Everything is so well done!! Three cheers to the great chefs!!! We like the tasty décor with all the beautiful Chinese painting on each of the lanterns hanging high up on the ceiling. The service was very nice. At the grand hall area, there was a beautiful duet played by a pianist and a violinist. Excellent ambience!!! We will definitely...
Read moreWe bought an online project that included two set menus based on “State Banquet” and also a one-hour guided tour about the emergency evacuation tunnel on the east side of the hotel. Honestly based on what we paid, 2500 TWD per person without tax, the food quality itself took only a small portion, and it’s not the most fascinating part. I was more amazed by the guided tour included, as the magnificence and history of the hotel, along with the service, tableware, structure of the State Banquet Menu, did contribute to the overall experience that we received today. This was my first visit at this hotel after several decades of living on the island as it stands a symbolic design in Taipei. It’s a great memory and will be a good one...
