Great memory visiting here, save one star for next visit. Lin An Tai Historical House, located in Taipei, Taiwan, is a beautifully preserved example of traditional Taiwanese architecture. Built in the mid-19th century, the house belonged to the Lin family, who were prominent merchants and intellectuals at the time.

The house is a fusion of southern Chinese and Taiwanese architectural styles, with a mix of Western influences as well. Visitors can explore the house's traditional courtyards, intricate carvings, and beautiful gardens, which reflect the perfect balance between humans and nature.

One of the most notable features of the Lin An Tai Historical House is its unique wooden spiral staircase, which is one of the only surviving examples of its kind in Taiwan. The house also features a variety of traditional furnishings and artifacts, providing a glimpse into the daily life of the Lin family during the 19th century.

Visitors can also learn about the history of the Lin family and their contributions to Taiwan's culture and society through the many exhibits and displays throughout the house.

The Lin An Tai Historical House is a valuable cultural asset and a must-visit attraction for those interested in Taiwanese history, culture, and architecture. It's a peaceful and educational destination for anyone looking to learn more about Taiwan's...

This was a very nice experience. Very educational. Amazing to see the structure and how large it was. The grounds and the house were very well kept and for the most part people were very responsible as there were very few guards around. They have a beautiful pond and garden with huge grass carp. The story was very interesting and how they moved and preserved these structure. Here's the problem. When it starts getting really hot and humid, there's no air conditioning there. They have some fans but pretty much they are useless. It's way too hot to enjoy this place in this summer. Keep this in mind when visiting. Depending on how much you would like to read, I would give this place about an hour. Around the area there are beautiful gardens. Fascinating in that it is right near the city airport. You can sit outside the gardens and by the road and watch the planes fly overhead. A lot of propeller and old planes which are fascinating. When we went, there was no charge. It was quite busy but manageable and there were times that there were no other tourists around us. All you do here is stroll around the gardens and walk through the house on your own and read at the descriptions. I think it is comparable in age to the United States Mount Vernon, but it's fascinating to see the...

Best hidden find in Taipei. Free of charge to enter, filled with antiques that date as far back as 1800s. It was a wealthy person's home. So well maintained till today. There are activities for kids in some rooms, and write-ups on culture for tourists, like popular chinese characters for names, common tools in olden day kitchens, etc. You get to see olden day beds, clocks, sewing machine, mortar, ancestral altar, and more. The entire place is free to enter and roam. Highly recommend. Toilets are clean. Very hot and sunny in early May, recommend to come in the morning to avoid the noon sun. Place makes for excellent photographs, saw a few couples taking wedding photoshoots. You can hear the traffic on the highway, and every so often planes pass by overhead and land at nearby Songshan airport. After exploring this place for about an hour, head to nearby botanic garden on foot less than 5 minutes walk, which is another free attraction where you get to escape the...
