Our recent visit to Anadolu Turkish Restaurant at Slipway, Dar es Salaam, was an absolute delight. This hidden gem offers an authentic Turkish culinary experience that exceeded all my expectations.
Food: We ordered the roasted chicken and grilled chicken legs with rice. Both dishes were cooked to perfection, with the chicken being incredibly tender and juicy. The seasoning was spot-on, offering a delightful blend of spices that transported us straight to Turkey. The Bulgur rice was perfectly cooked, complementing the flavors of the chicken wonderfully.
For dessert, we indulged in the traditional Turkish Sütlaç (rice pudding). It was creamy and sweet, with just the right amount of flavor. It was the perfect end to our meal, leaving us both satisfied and eager to return.
Service: The service at Anadolu was exemplary. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The highlight of our dining experience was when the chef personally came to our table to greet us. His passion for cooking and dedication to his customers was evident, adding a personal touch that made our visit memorable.
Atmosphere: The restaurant boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is beautifully done, with a mix of traditional Turkish elements and modern touches. The ambiance is relaxed, making it a great place for both casual dining and special occasions. The outdoor seating area offers a lovely view of the surroundings, perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or family.
Overall: Our experience at Anadolu Turkish Restaurant Slipway was fantastic. From the delicious food to the impeccable service and charming atmosphere, everything was top-notch. If you’re in Dar es Salaam and looking for a place to enjoy authentic Turkish cuisine, Anadolu is the place to go. Highly...
Read moreHorrible service. After having a mediocre meal and slow service we received the bill. We counted the money thrice & the waitress also counted it in front of us. There was 6,000 tshs change. After 15 minutes we asked what was taking to so long to bring the change and she said the cashier is busy, after an additional 10 minutes we asked again and were informed that the we hadn’t paid the full amount and were 10,000 tshs short. We said how can it be possible whilst the waitress counted infront of us and it takes them 25 minutes to inform us. And the cashier was just extremely rude banging her fist on the counter. We were shocked, we called the owner and he returned our change but also told us that the cashier is Muslim so he trusts her and we don’t have to go back there, despite being repeat customers. He told us to go to the neighbouring waterfront restaurant. Absolutely appalled at the owner, at the cashier and waitress. We are disgusted at their service especially the owner’s response and will never go back...
Read moreHorrible customer service. The staff were not attentive at all. Average food. Half the items on the menu were not available. Our starters came after the main meal. The bill was the only thing which came promptly. We counted twice before paying and the waitress counted in front of us and confirmed the amount was correct. We didn’t receive our change for 25 mins. Every time we asked, we were told the cashier is busy. Finally we decided to go up to the cashier to be told we have paid less and so there is no change. When we tried to explain to her that the waitress counted and confirmed the amount was correct, she started banging on the table and shouting. We asked to speak to the owner, who said his cashier is Muslim, so she doesn’t steal or cheat. And we shouldn’t go back to...
