The DYC as it's known is a surprisingly pathetic experience. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon when you would expect things to be bustling and excited but the staff and other guests all seemed to be in some kind of sleepy midday daze. Despite the allure of being in a members-only environment, the system which is in place is tedious and uninspiring. We were unable to get a drink at the Beach Bar because our card was being held was being held at the upstairs restaurant, where our lunch order was painstakingly placed. Luckily the food was decent (seafood and chips) and only took about 20-25 minutes to arrive. We did eventually get drinks, but without glasses or ice. The grounds, facilities, clubhouse are vast but under kept. Everything looking half done and neglected. The pool is tiny for such a large and "famous" club and we saw several foreign objects floating around. Really a sad place to be when it could be restored to the vibrant and inspiring community center it seems to have once been. It has kids section, open section in front of the bar and the other side is more calm and quiet. I would say it’s a place for both families and young people and yet it’s not a mess.
