My first visit left me wishing I'd come sooner. Only let-down was the overly sweet gin martini; I still have not found any place in Tanzania that uses dry vermouth! Anyway...

To start, I combined the arancini with the spaghetti alla Bella Napoli. Absolutely perfect, period. I took a long time over these, and was delighted that the staff not only waited to bring the next course—they actually asked if I'd rather take a few minutes.

The 'secondi' for me was their Fillet di Bue ai Funghi (beef filet in a mushroom sauce), and that was great, too. To finish, I took a café americano and limoncello with a chocolate gelato. Excellente!

That martini failure aside, dinner was so good I got a pizza (capricciosa) takeaway. Now I just hope to find excuse to return...

A quaint Italian restaurant with cozy family vibe, ample indoor and outdoor seating. Service is lacking, the lack of hospitality and arrogant attitude of the waiting staff can be off-putting.

PROS:lovely vibes, food is decent, price is reasonable given the decor of the restaurant. Portion is generous. We would love to keep coming back if it weren’t for the ‘haughty and mighty’ wait staff.

CONS:service service service. If only the wait staff is more friendly. But almost all the female staff we spoke to appeared indifferent and ARROGANT even, no smiling whatsoever.

Our waitress forgot to bring our antipasto, when asked, she didn’t even say a simple ‘sorry’, not a smile, only went away with a straight face. Our moods were pretty much...

It was the first time I tried pizza in Dar. I saw the reviews, and because it was located in Masaki (good area), I decided to try. The pizza was really good, good quality ingredients, nice size, and very fair price. So, for that reason, I give 5 stars. The place is ok, not fancy, but reasonable. The weather was terrible, so it did not help the atmosphere. If you take kids, they have a huge playground. Service was also reasonable but not really that nice and friendly like we are used in Africa. The restaurant is located in a kind of private backyard, with no view to anything, and that is a little strange. Considering the food quality and the cost, it's for sure a good place for pizza in Dar. It's totally...
