I left my home with a dream, a dream to experience culture and cuisine that could make me feel like I had never left. While there were places that I encountered which managed to satisfied my deep desire to feel the authenticity of my home country, I always left feeling as though something was missing. I just couldn’t put my finger on it, it felt like it was on the top of my tongue but even trying to whisper it into reality would cause it to fade into oblivion.
That was until I came across .island. I struggle to put into words the authenticity of this humble establishment. As soon as I step foot through the front door, I feel as though I have been teleported back home. The way the cafe merges atmosphere, culture and kind, attentive service brings a genuine feeling like no other. Not only are the staff and the manager attentive and flexible, the food and drink are delicious, with an exquisite emphasis on the Napoleon which tantalised my tastebuds and made me feel like I was back in the warm embrace of my mothers arms.

Place itself looks nice and seems nice, but it wasn't opened through a love for coffee, I paid ฿240 for oat flat whites which really were just cups of hot oat milk, Seems a good place to work remotely with comfortable furniture and the food looked nice.
Updated - 27/08/24 Has trained baristas now working in the shop who can make a really nice coffee, I come here in the mornings before work and sometimes the afternoons, limited plugs so make sure to have a charged laptop if you are coming to work.
