Shishka Lounge bar — Restaurant in Chalong

First off, I was surprised to learn that the owner—or at least one of them—is Russian. I honestly didn’t realize there were so many Russians in Thailand! That said, this place has hands down the best Shisha I’ve had since arriving—and I’ve been to quite a few spots.

The Russian guy who prepares the Shisha doesn’t speak much English, but we managed to communicate well enough. He clearly knows what he’s doing. The staff overall were fantastic—very attentive, welcoming, and made a genuine effort to answer all my questions and make me feel at home.

Just a heads-up: Shisha here isn’t cheap. Expect to pay between 800–1500 THB (roughly AU$38–70), which is more than what I’d pay back home in Australia. Also, something a lot of reviews don’t mention is the 4% surcharge for using a credit/debit card—definitely unusual. On top of that, the card machine doesn’t always work, so I’d recommend bringing cash just to be safe.
