*Update 4/21/19: consistency is key. I dropped my review by two stars due to the poor service received today. We ordered our food and everything seemed normal. The problems started when they served us the first plate. I'm not sure what it was, but it wasn't anything we ordered. We found out that the boy who took our order wrote down the wrong item. When I received my order, the fried rice had little sausages in it. I've had this plate a few times now, and this is the first time I've had these added. The butterfly pea tea Aldi had way too much sugar this time although I asked for no added sugar (I don't understand why they don't make it without sugar, and then add it when you order so you don't have to have sugar in it, but this is Thailand after all). The final issue is that when we were nearly finished with the plates we had been served, my fiancé asked where her salad was. They told her that they didn't have the vegetable required for the salad, so they made her an apple salad instead, where they should have told her before serving our food that they didn't have it. I'll give them one more chance next time I'm in Chiang Mai, but this service needs to improve to keep me coming back.
I've been here three times now, and it's definitely one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Chiang Mai. Their butterfly pea drink is one of the better ones I've had (they don't use too much sugar) and every plate I've tried was quite delicious. The outdoor seating is quite cozy, with many different plants to add some natural green to the area. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a good meal...
Read moreWe first came to Lee La 4 years ago before pandemic. It's a clean and nicely decorated and homey feeling restaurant in Santitham area.
Price is good to compared with such a good quality and portion of food we had.
We ordered Pork Rice Vermicelli with clear soup, all the ingredients were fresh and portion was quite substantial for me, apart from meat ball and sliced pork, also have organs, crispy pork lard and fried wonton skins which was a happy meal all in one. Pineapple fried rice was a good one. Eventually we ordered one more soup noodles, the soup base was very tasty.
Now they extended part of the restaurant as a cafe offering coffee and tea selections as well as coffee cocktails. Please note that iced thai green tea was used instead of matcha, some may not use to the acquired taste...
Read moreIt’s a bit of an upmarket, nicely presented food on a huge white platter style of place. I prefer to pay cheaper prices at dingy little markets down the road but I you’re looking an air conditioned comfort this place has a great bustling atmosphere. I tried the yellow curry with fried chicken which was good but I’ve had better fried chicken and larger portions for cheaper prices. Paid 80 baht for my dish, probably wouldn’t come back my experience here was pleasant and the staff are very friendly....
