Ming Zhen Restaurant — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

Called, Ming Zheng Restaurant Vegetarian Food. Another “cold served choose 2-3 option with rice vegan place”. With the Thai spelling of their name on Google Maps they are unlikely to get many foreign vegan customers.

Offering to microwave their offerings would be a good idea. Warm food does taste better.

Found crunchy pieces of eggshell(?) and inedible leaves used for seasoning(?) in my mouth after taking a few bites.

Reasonably tasteful and cheap. Not very clean. Sad that such businesses are run with such little care or pride. If they painted, cleaned and maintained this place they could increase prices easily.

Paid 35 baht for rice, two choices plus...

The food is absolutely delicious and cheap. Their menu is huge and has almost any Thai dish. The Khao Soi here is one of the best in CM. I come here often as it's one of the best vegetarian Thai places in this part of town!

Edit:half a year later it's still my favorite local place. The food is really good and now they do grab...

Ming Zhen is perfect. While we stayed a month in Chiang Mai this is the place we had breakfast very often. For 40-50 baht you get rice with 2-3 sides.

You can also select from a range of mock meats to get in some good protein. Looks like everything from the buffet is vegan, as I haven’t seen any eggs...
