Shabushi by Oishi — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

Shabu shabu with conveyer belt was great. Had spicy soup which wasnt too spicy. Conveyer belt was refilled fast even with full table around the belt. Portions were small enough that i didnt have to worry about leftovers. Sushi and tempura, on the other hand, were not worth eating. Rice was compacted too hard and not flavoured well. Tempura shrimp was probably the smallest size Ive seen in town with too much batter and piled up too much that they were getting moist, loosing crispness. The place is worth 5 stars even if you dont go for the side sushi area. I wish they would get rid of the sushi area and maybe lower the price or get more...

Found foam in my boiling pot. Came with vegetables. Which by the way were not fresh AT ALL. They changed my pot after that. Yet later another piece of plastic was found in my mouth. I didn’t even bother to say again. I just want to FINISH MY MEAL. Other than all the FOOD SAFTEY ISSUES, everything sucks, too. The rice is all mushed and sticky like paste. And the tempura is really oily, that means the temperature is too low. And it’s not even crispy. Veggies were all dried up, meat were set for too long, the color was not right. Anyways,...

Ahh, splendid, always a good meal at the Shabushi Chain of restraunts. The sushi from the buffet was nice and fresh, battered prawns were nice, Japanese Curry with fluffy Japanese rice, the conveyor was running flat out fully stocked, I chose the chicken stock base for my hot pot, yum the supply was never ending with lots of seafood like shrimp, clams, fish and lots of beef chicken and pork fillet to build your own hot pot.
