The Baristro Asian Style stands out as a premier destination for Japanese tea enthusiasts in Chiang Mai. Specializing in a wide range of matcha, from premium to ceremonial grades, this café offers a unique experience tailored for true connoisseurs of Japanese culture and tea.
Strengths: Quality and Variety: The Baristro offers an impressive variety of matcha options, allowing visitors to explore everything from robust standard grades to delicate ceremonial grades. Each variety is distinct, catering to both newbies and seasoned matcha lovers. Authentic Experience: The necessity to purchase a ticket before entering adds an element of exclusivity and tradition to the experience, reminiscent of tea ceremonies in Japan. This ticket system, which converts into a credit for purchasing drinks, is both innovative and customer-friendly. Value for Money: At 80 baht per drink ticket, the pricing is reasonable considering the quality of matcha offered. This system also ensures that every visitor can enjoy a premium tea experience at a fixed cost.
Areas for Improvement: Accessibility: The ticketing system, while unique, might be a barrier for spontaneous visitors who are unfamiliar with the process. Simplifying access or providing clearer instructions online could help attract more customers. Ambiance and Decor: To further enhance the authentic Japanese tea experience, the café could consider integrating more elements of traditional Japanese decor. This would create a more immersive environment that complements the high-quality matcha.
Conclusion: The Baristro Asian Style is a gem for matcha enthusiasts in Chiang Mai, offering a thoughtful selection of high-quality Japanese green teas in a setting that emphasizes the cultural significance of tea. With a few adjustments to enhance accessibility and ambiance, it could strengthen its position as a must-visit location for both locals and tourists seeking an authentic...
Read more2 Star for how they create this place. Nice! 1 star for the coffee. I have been their with my family. We have entered about late afternoon about 5.10pm understand that they will get last order at 5.40pm and will closed about 6pm (As followed what the front staff told us) so we understood and get to the counter ready to ordered about 5.15 pm First, two young lady staff standing at the cashier after we ordered(Dirty, Signature Milo.., Yuzu…) has one of them told us that they will give us in take away cup,I asking them why ? And she said because they will closed at 6pm so this is the point 1.on that time we have another 20mins+for finished our drinks and 30 mins before their closed. 2.In case we can’t finished it, Can we just ask to change for the take away glass? 3.We ordered 2 drinks that better to served in normal glass. Dirty & Their Signature Milo… 4.This is specialty coffee place not the kiosk coffee that ok we can accepted for this condition.
I understood the time and we accepted that how much time that we can spend in their and finish our drinks, if not we won’t even paid for the ticket at first!
After we insisted that that lady staff really show in her face that she is not happy with our answer luckily one of the senior staff who know about the service take part after that.O So this the first time for me and my family with the Baristro but after we got that reaction and reason from the staff we quite disappointed and not happy for this brand already because only 1 staff that might not willing to service customer.
This is just my opinion and what my family feels after this happened so I hope they can improve more for be the top of the...
Read moreI came to this cafe today because it's relatively near where I'm staying. The place itself is really beautiful, resembling a Japanese ryokan and traditional Korean houses.
There's an 80 THB entrance fee, which can be settled when you pay for your beverages or food. I think this place is more for drinks than for a good meal.
They have a fast area for pickups and another area called 'Matcha Slow Bar' where you can order beverages and dine at your own pace. I think this separation is great for people who want to either take out or dine in; it makes the process a lot more efficient. The choices of matcha are so many, and I've loved every single one I've tried. We tried a few flavuors and also ordered a bagel, which I think is really mediocre and can be skipped.
🍵 JYOURAKU UJI RIPE FRUIT, AVOCADO, CREAMY I really like how this matcha is incredibly creamy. The umami flavor really comes through, and I love that it tastes so clean without any bitterness. I think this is a very good one.
🍵 YAME FUKUOKA ROASTED PISTACHIO, SMOKY This is quite distinct from the others. The bitterness of the clean, grassy matcha flavor really comes through, as do the nutty pistachio notes.
🍡STRAWBERRY GREEN TEA DAIFUKU Size M: 65 THB This daifuku's mochi skin is really stretchy & thin, and the green tea flavor from the paste and the fresh, sweet strawberry really stands out.
Overall Impression I highly recommend that you come here to enjoy the atmosphere and take some really nice photos for Instagram. Other than that, please try their matcha and coffee, but you can definitely give the...
