TRIAL MATCHA — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

Located just off of Suthep Road next to the Norn Plearn Hostel. At the date of this writing it is newly opened with a good deal of effort put into decoration.

They specialize in chocolate drinks of various sweetness levels, Hojicha (a roasted green tea) and milk drinks with various toppings.

They also serve five different types of Croffle, (a cross between a croissant and a waffle).

I ordered a 85% strength iced chocolate drink and paid 60 baht. It was enjoyable but a bit more ice in it than I would have liked.

Great variety of matcha / done well

One of the best if not the best matcha in town. I would only recommend this shop for those who love matcha with umami / complex flavour since the prices are on the high side and if you do like more simple bitter green tea then this might not be your cup of tea. We tried Uji ceremonial and Tsuyuhikari at level 1 and we can really tell the difference btw them.

The store decor is interesting and the Staff are attentive and knowledgeable. Carpark can be an issue at time...

I had high expectations going into this matcha spot, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet them. The matcha itself wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything special either. If you’re looking for the best matcha experience, this place might not be the one for you. The service was also lacking, which left me feeling a bit disappointed.
