Accha Authentic Indian Cuisine: A Delightful Culinary Experience with Room for Ambience Improvement
Located at 888 Phaholyothin Road in the heart of Chiang Rai, Accha Authentic Indian Cuisine offers a genuine taste of India that tantalizes the palate. The restaurant is renowned for its flavorful dishes and attentive service, making it a popular choice for both locals and visitors.
Culinary Highlights
The menu boasts a variety of traditional Indian dishes prepared with imported spices and cooked in a special “tandoor” oven, ensuring an authentic taste. Signature dishes include the Chicken Sholay Kebab, marinated with a blend of herbs and spices, and the Butter Chicken, known for its rich and creamy tomato-based sauce. The Mixed Naan, featuring garlic, cheese, and butter, complements the main courses perfectly. For dessert, the Gulab Jamun, a sweet treat soaked in rose-flavored syrup, is a must-try. Beverage options like the Mango Lassi, a refreshing yogurt-based drink, round out the meal.
Service Excellence
The staff at Accha are courteous and efficient, ensuring that diners feel welcomed and well-attended throughout their visit. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to accommodate special requests enhance the dining experience.
Ambience
While the food and service are commendable, the restaurant’s ambience could benefit from some enhancements. The current decor is modest and functional but lacks the warmth and cultural richness that one might expect from an authentic Indian dining establishment. Improvements in lighting, interior design, and thematic decor could significantly elevate the overall dining atmosphere.

Read moreBrit here! And I love my Indian curry!
What amazed me was the RANGE of different curries. This isn't just a Butter Chicken, Tikka Masala place but the full works. It's got all the usual Brit favourites such as Rogan Josh, Masala, Paneer, Korma, Madras, Vindaloo, Jalfrezi, Dhansak, Bhuna, Biryani. And a ton of curries you've probably never heard of. This time I went for a Pakistani curry which was exceptional.

The ambiance is rustic with subtle nods to Indian culture that add to the overall experience.
But the real star of the show is the food. Every dish is a masterpiece of flavour, texture, and aroma. The naan bread was also excellent, perfectly fluffy and buttery, making for the perfect companions to the flavourful curries.
Accha also boasts a fantastic selection of vegetarian dishes, ensuring there's something for everyone. And for those with a sweet tooth, the gulab jamun and rasa gula are an absolute must-try.
It's interesting because I also tried their Chiang Mai branch previously but this branch is WAY better.
The service at Accha is fantastic. The staff are friendly, attentive, speak great English, and are genuinely passionate about ensuring that you have a great experience.

CLEANLINESS:👍👍👍/5 (just because this is Thailand and for the average standard here, this is just above average, they have done very well with what they have).

FULL REVIEW:
The food is very good.😋😋😋 out of 5 (still think Kebab House has a more punchier flavour). The taste is 😋😋😋😋 (4/5) but the flavor I feel has been toned down for the Western palate (which is fair enough). They have real Indian chefs which helps to maintain the authentic Indian flavor. The portions look small when the food arrives, but don't let that fool you. You will be filled and satisfied with the portions (small though they may appear).
The restaurant is very well arranged. The outside seating is very comfortable and it also maintains a good sense of privacy too. There are smoking and non-smoking areas (👍👍👍👍👍).
The staff are friendly and appropriately attentive (not hovering over you, waiting for your order). They give you a bell to ring (which I just couldn't use, it felt like I was calling my servants, however the table behind us, well let's say that play time was over every 5 minutes lol).
If you are in Chiang Rai and are craving (or just want to try out some Indian) food, I would most definitely...
