Big Bump Bar and Restaurant — Restaurant in Choeng Thale

Extremely rude and unhelpful staff and awful food. Had a really disappointing evening here as had booked table for new year's eve, they had a Thai rock band playing which would normally have been fine but the music was so loud it hurt your ear drums and no one could talk to each other, it was so ridiculous that the young children in our group ended up crying. When we asked staff if they could turn the music down a bit so it was comfortable they laughed at us with one guy coming out threateningly and telling us to go home! Have been to Thailand many times and not had staff be so insensitive and unhelpful. The food we ordered for the kids was average at best. We ended up leaving and going to Packys bar where the staff and food were excellent so recommend going...

Среди многих кафе вокруг отеля Amora, в котором мы отдыхаем, хочу отметить Big Bump Bar, в который мы влюбились раз и навсегда и возвращаемся уже 5 или 6 раз за отпуск. Всегда есть свободные столы, детские стулья, рядом бамбуковые качели и ящик с детскими игрушками и машинками, малыши увлечены, пока взрослые обедают (спасибо за это!). Милый улыбчивый персонал, внимательный, ни разу не перепутали блюда и не обсчитали, все четко. Цены — средние или чуть выше средних, типично для Банг Тао и побережья. И самое главное — кухня! Здесь ОЧЕНЬ вкусно! Порции самые большие и щедрые среди всех кафе, где мы ели. 3 блюда на двоих — более чем достаточно, не факт что сможете доесть. Креветки с кешью и морепродукты с кешью — просто божественные, берём каждый раз, эти же блюда пробовали в других местах — в Bumps просто пушка-бомба, остальные не идут ни в какое сравнение. Massaman curry, пад тай и рис в ананасе — отличные, очень понравились! Приходите вкусно ужинать и смотреть закат. Ребята, спасибо, вы придали вкус нашему отпуску 💛

Upd Oct’24: returned to BangTao and twice had massaman curry & shrimps with cashew nuts for takeaway, it was perfect. But when we once added rice with seafood to our order for our little son, it ended up with severe food poisoning of the baby (vomiting all night and suffering from diarrhea for the following week. We used to think the cause of his vomiting was the swimming pool water that he might have drunk, but when me and my husband ordered the same rice [rice sounds safe, isn’t it?] with seafood the next day, it was our turn to heavily vomit and 💩 all the evening and night. Very disappointed and confused about the case. Vacation was spoilt by it, because we spent the whole next week around the 🚽 and the nearest pharmacy trying to make the little child...

Very nice tourist spot. Tastes like they use frozen fish but cooked well. Lacking the normal Thai spice but most likely that’s to please tourists. Pineapple fried rice was delicious and the cashew chicken was really good as well. Can’t beat the view and atmosphere. Suggest getting here an hour before sunset to get a beach table. ...
