A hidden gem nearby resort in Bangtao Beach. Even we could walk from the resort, we still had to take Bolt as it was very hot outside and there was a short distance where cow was lying on the road. It costed us 150 bath each ride. However, it is still worth to pay for the rides. Thai Food was authentically cooked. Portion was big. My son had burger and he claimed it was very delicious. The chef owner was welcoming and friendly. When we just sat down, he brought me a fresh coconut and said free for the lady. After a while he brought out deep fried chicken wings with a piece of paper saying Free. How nice! We ordered our food. And the real find is Bakes Pineapple fried rice. For the first time in my life, I knew that the pineapple must be well baked to make this dish. The sweetness of the baked pineapple was absorbed into the fried rice and seafood. I have never been served the correctly cooked pineapple fried rice anywhere, even in other high-quality Thai restaurants. How wonderful i found this in a very ordinary Thai restaurant in Phuket. Just before we finished our lunch, the owner brought out another banana pancake ice cream for free. BTW, we were a group of 4 dining guests. The bill we paid was just about 600 bath for the meal. Still need to mention, we came another time for dinner. This time I again ordered baked pineapple fried rice as I could never get enough of it. I immediately noticed the pineapple was still fresh and green. It was not baked this time. Disappointed a little! The meal was still good and lots of freebies for us. To the owner, I hope the restaurant keeps cooking the correct way and do not cut corner like other shops. I know sometimes you're too busy, but I also know that you can do a lot better. Definitely recommend...
Read moreWOWEE WOW WOW. The hospitality we experienced here was just what the doctor ordered. It honestly restored my faith in mankind. When we arrived at Butterfly, which is situated on a peaceful and winding back road, we were greeted with smiling enthusiasm. The wonderfully pleasant man whom i presume is the chef/owner based on his demeanor and colorful apron, explained it would only be a moment to take our order as he dropped a complementary plate of fresh fruit for meantime munching. He returned and took our orders moments later as promised, shouting the order back into the kitchen as we relayed what we wanted which made me giggle a bit. We ordered mostly dishes marked “recommended” as it was our first visit. Stir fried chicken and cashews with a side steamed purple rice, massaman chicken curry, & shrimp ‘money bags’. When our beautifully crafted ‘money bags’ came out to the table, the young man who brought them also placed a healthy plate of what seemed to be katsu style fried chicken in front of us and explained it was also complementary! I mean, what did we do to deserve such generosity? Everything was crunchy crispy delicious. The main course came next and DAMN. Was it a man in course. Portions were huge for the price and everything was made with more than apparent passion. We ate and ate until we just couldn’t anymore. Full and satisfied we asked for our leftovers to be packed up for later enjoyment and were obliged. Honestly. This place is an absolute GEM. Highly recommend. My one and only complaint was we had a bit of a war with the local mosquitos as it had been a little rainy. The staff hooked us up with a fan without us even asking. I mean A+. Will most definitely be back to relax and eat more of the delicious food...
Read moreThe town itself is deserted due to Corona and right when we were giving up hope to eat in a restaurant this gem emerged. The host/owner greeted us with open arms and guided us to our seats. He speaks good English and is very friendly. At our table the first obstacle emerges. What to pick from the enormous list of Thai and Western food options. Since we were already for 3 weeks on Phuket I opted for some Western food while my girlfriend went for the coconut soup. To ease the waiting, "some" appetizers, were given. A plate full of fried chicken, chicken nuggets and onion rings came our way. The chicken was tender and crispy and the chili saus was just right. The coconut soup tasted rich and flavourful and the chicken burger was delicious and only costed 49 bath. As a finisher we got fruit but due to the immensely amount of food given I asked if I could take it with me to eat at a later time. When we wanted to pay the bill of around 440 bath for two persons including beers the owners rushed to us with ice cream for the road. This restaurant is a must visit when in the area. The owners are very nice and the food delicious. It is also great for families since there is a playground just in front and enough food option for picky eaters. It is ideal for hungry people with a...
