The beach does not live up to the reputation. On the pictures it looks nice but in real life it's not good. The ocean is littered with garbage from the trees. Sometimes having whole branches just there in the water. And the street vendors location is very dirty. And if the road leading up to the beach is also littered with garbage. Also I'm not sure of exactly of what it is. But there's a pipe that has flowing water out of it into the beach. And suspiciously looks like it might be sewage or smth else. And it also rarely looks good, as the weather conditions have to be just perfect. Because if they are not the whole place looks bad especially due to the surroundings. So I don't know if some of the 5 star reviews are fake or not. But I belive there are definitely some fake ones in there. I wouldn't recommend getting a hotel to go to this beach as there are many other beaches that I would say are much better than this one. the beach is basically being milked RightNow for money. It's filled with jet skies which make the whole place loud. And there are hundreds of plastic seats which are not even free and they won't allow you to use them. And it doesn't even seem like that's a legitimate business. And normally the police would apparently stop this, to stop the ruining of beaches views. But here it persists. And 95% of them are unused and are just sitting plastic garbage at this point. At the entrance I already wanted to leave as it was just that bad. In fact horrible. Just go the side of the road that leads to the ocean there is a swamp. In there there are some animals still alive, somehow, because there's so, so much garbage in there that I just feel bad for the reptile I saw alive in there. And also there's a random contraption that seems to be a fountain. But all it is it random pipes and plastic containers spewing water up and back into the swamp. The people at the shops/vendors are also aggressive with trying to force you to buy their product which...
Read moreThe beach is divided into two parts, the smaller of which is the private beach of the hotels Amanpuri Resort and The Surin, which are located behind the rocky cape on the right. By the way, if you go behind the cape, you can enter their territory!
Surin beach is a cozy and beautiful beach, its length is approximately 1.3 kilometers - it is a medium-sized beach.
It is quite famous beach and there are a lot of tourists here.
Flora
Coniferous casuarinas mixed with other tree species and large shrubs. There are few palm trees. The beach begins and ends with rocky mountains covered with greenery.
There are enough trees here that create artificial shade, protecting from the sun's rays.
This is a beach with soft sand of grayish color! The sea here is transparent, has a turquoise shade. Waves are quite strong. The entrance to the sea is deeper than average. Swimming should be careful, with small children is not recommended!

Read moreQuiet, uncrowded beach, soft sand and great views, away from touristy areas. Surrounding town is small but has what you need. Note that as of this review, the beach is undergoing a significant renovation as all the vendors have been removed to be replaced with a more natural look and feel at least according to news articles (google “what happened to surin beach” to learn more). So things were still under construction when we visited (some old structures still remain, lots of ditches dug in the ground, appear to be for new tree plantings, initial stages of raised overlook platform had been built), and while we were hesitent at first (before knowing what had happened), dont worry bc once you get past all that and reach the sand, all of that is behind you (literally). Hopefully in 1-2 years all goes to plan and this place will look great with more trees and less concrete...
